I know it's Saturday but people are used to seeing the "Friday Check In" thread.

How did everyone do?

I did ok. My eating is way off. I don't know if it's because we've been housebound a lot lately because of my ds' potty training, or if it's PMS, but whatever the reason, I need to snap out of it

I did get in three runs this week and some resistance training. The boys worked out with me in the garage one day too. That was fun (not). The neighbors thought it was cute though; watching the boys mimic my every behavior (complete with their own set of weights)

OH and because it's the end of the month, I weighed myself. ICK!

How did you all do?

Doing good with the exercising, trying to do better with the "snacking" Trying to stay away from the chocolate temptations!!
I think I might get dressed and head out for a run right now. It's sunny but cold but I need to go just run!

I did great with my workouts this week but also fell victim to food temptations. My daughter's birthday was on Thursday. I had a cupcake, chuckecheese pizza and 2 scoops of chocolate ice cream. That was not all at one time but those were my sins of the day.

My right ankle has been killing me. I bought a new pair of running shoes yesterday and hope that helps. My other shoes were over a year old and not very suppportive.

I haven't lost any weight and that is a bummer. However, I do feel stronger.

Happy to report - just got back from a 3 mile run. I ran about the same speed, same time frame only due to black ice patches. But it felt good to just run. I'm going to get up and go again tomorrow.

I ate entirely too much Easter candy this week and ate some other junk too. Bad food week! Workouts were okay but really the whole week was pretty off. I was up 2 pounds this morning but hopefully that will go back down in a day or two. We had tacos last night and there was so much salt in that seasoning packet that I could barely get my rings on this morning. Yuck. The remainder of the Easter candy will be going into the trash today since I am the only one still munching on it. I am off to the gym in a few minutes to do a Body Pump class and some cardio. Damage control!

This was a pretty good week for me. I ran my first 3.1 since I had my foot injections (I have a neuroma and couldn't run for 3 months). I also did weight training for 2 days. Lifted very hard and definately felt it the next couple of days

I was going to write pretty much the same thing. But it was my niece and nephew's birthdays this week (two parties). No weight change. Did well on the workouts (yesterday and today are my days off).

For those of us trying to lose the last 15-20 lbs, and who are exercising consistently .. what are we going to do?

For me, I think I need to need to add more strength training and cut more carbs.

KH, the only way I was finally able to get rid of the last 20 pounds (after carrying them around for about 5 years) was to keep a food journal and count calories. It is boring to think about doing it every day but you get used to it and it really works. I use a Bob Greene journal and I still use it a year and a half after I lost the weight. If I don't use it for a week or so, I gain a couple of pounds. For me, it is just simple math and I had to find the formula that worked for me. I found that if I ate about 1300 to 1400 calories a day and exercised at least 5 hours a week, I would lose 1.5 pounds a week. I like the Bob Greene one because it has little veggies and fruits and glasses of water to check off and a place to keep track of your workouts. You could use any little notebook though. Try it. It works! I find that it doesn't really matter how I use those calories - carbs or protein or whatever - as long as I keep it to a certain number.
