I was not raised in church and I dont think I have ever heard my Dad say the word God. My mother believes in God and she has been my only influence in the topic. I dont have a church and I dont see a need for one. The bible says "do not worship false ideals" that means the church and the cross. Any statue or tangeble item. I know many church goers are big to throw this one out at other religions but they dont see it in themselves.
I have studied religion and I do not believe in a specific religion but if I was going to declair one today it would be taoism. Its one of the worlds oldest religions. Something is out threir but I think we are looking in the wrong places. He/she lives within you.
