My first Gateway to 8k workout was difficult but it was because my legs are tired from working on the house.

I increased my speed today, too. I don't feel the need to be competitive about speed but would like to run a little bit faster.

Great job Linda! I was going to go for my run this morning but it was raining outside. So I think I'll just do a simple cardio routine here in my house today.
My left knee has also been bothering me lately, very tight. So I am trying to take it easy too as I am suppose to run in a 5K on Sunday.

Good luck with your 5k on Sunday! That would be a huge deal for me

Does it count as strength training if your running against 15 to 20 mph winds? Needless to say it was pretty windy for my run toaday but I pushed through it. I so wanted to stop but I kept going.

I did 2 workouts this week but failed to complete the third. I've been working hard on our home improvement project. I was too beat to run. We're almost finished so I hope to start fresh on Monday.

I just finished week 6 this morning. It was a difficult 25 minutes but that's because I increased my speed a little. Next week on to week 7. Looks like they are all 25 minute runs.

How is everyone else doing?

AWESOME!!!!!

That is a hard week!

I'm thinking about approaching my gateway to 8k a little differently. I may stall on the first week until I can run a little bit faster. I'm only running 4.8 and would like to up that to at least 5.5 before advancing. The breaks in the first week of the 8k will be what I need to build endurance for running a little faster.

I think it is great that you are continuing on from the C25k. You should be pround of yourself. I also had trouble getting my workouts in because the kids have been sick with colds and up all night. I just can't workout without a good nights sleep (which still includes getting up with the little one 2-4 times a night). I think I had like 3 days between each workout this week. Oh well, at least we keep going and don't give up.

I was thinking about that the other day and when I am done with the C25K I think that is what I want to do as well. It should hopefully make it an easier transition to Gateway to 8K.

Good Luck.
