DH's doctor told him if he limited himself to 3 carbs per day and 4 red meats per week, and then loaded up on veggies (limiting corn), the weight would melt off. It did! He lost over 30 pounds in a month. I loved the simplicity of her advice -- it was something even DH saw as easy, and doable without adding a lot of extra to the shopping cart. Salad was a staple at every meal (except breakfast lol).
