I agree with Kathryn - take your measurements and then check them out next month!

Everyone is doing a GREAT job!

Kathryn - you'll do great running 20 minutes consistently! Wait until afterwards and how you feel!!!

No change this week. My official weigh in is on Monday mornings.

But I did run 20 min a row today! Whoo Hoo! I was so nervous before hand, my heart was pounding before I even stepped on the treadmill. I never would have thought I could do this.

Thanks for all your encouragement!

Hi everyone! You guys are so encouraging and motivated, I just had to post!

I have about 20 pounds I want to lose and I'm almost halfway through training for a 1/2 marathon. I've always found it difficult to lose any weight through exercise alone - my appetite simply increases to more than compensate for the burned calories.

So, although I'm really not happy about it, I've started counting calories. I've calculated a 2000 calorie per day diet will get me losing. And, the shocking thing about writing down what I eat? How damn hard it is to stay under 2000 cals/day! (Makes me wonder how many I was eating before!!!) A PB&J sandwich is 500 calories, for goodness sakes!!

Ok, I'll get off my soapbox now. I just wanted to say I'm excited to join y'all and can't wait to have some progress of my own!

Thanks for joining us! Definitely writing down what you eat is key -- check out my weight loss journey (in my signature) and you'll see how far I have come.

Look forward to chatting with you more!

I'm not weighing in today. Last week, I had stayed the same even though my scales at home showed almost a 3 lb loss. then we went out of town this weekend and along the way we found a Krispy Kreme donut place and what do you know?:??? I just had to use my BUY ONE DOZEN GET ONE DOZEN free coupon. So, for the past several days we have been eating nothing but donuts BAD DECISION but they taste oh so good. I've been repeating my mantra: nothing tastes as good as being thin feels: but KK donuts come pretty close
