We so happy you're joining us! I know what you mean about increased appetite making up for calories burned. Writing it down helps. There are lots of online calculators that make it easier too. fitday, sparkspeople, extrapounds all have great calorie counters. I need to do this more too.

I have about 20 pounds I want to lose and I'm almost halfway through training for a 1/2 marathon. I've always found it difficult to lose any weight through exercise alone - my appetite simply increases to more than compensate for the burned calories.

So, although I'm really not happy about it, I've started counting calories. I've calculated a 2000 calorie per day diet will get me losing. And, the shocking thing about writing down what I eat? How damn hard it is to stay under 2000 cals/day! (Makes me wonder how many I was eating before!!!) A PB&J sandwich is 500 calories, for goodness sakes!!

Ok, I'll get off my soapbox now. I just wanted to say I'm excited to join y'all and can't wait to have some progress of my own!
You lucky dog! I'm living on 1300 calories

Glad to have you with us!

Way to go - I certainly would have gained with donuts!

Thanks ladies for all the encouragement. You know what stinks, though???? I weigh in on Thursday's at lunch because that is the only day that they are open during lunch. That said, for the past month I have weighed LESS on Friday morning than any other day that I've weighed. It stinks to go weigh and I'm the same or up when the very next day I'm back down. I can't figure it out. My scales at home are a bit different in weighing than the ones at ww, so i take that into account, but GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

I wish I could get some motivation to exercise more. I HATE IT and the funny thing is, i used to be an aerobics instructor, teaching as many as 27 classes a week. I lost 33lbs on ww in 2004 by watching my points and walking 2 miles a day/5 times a week. Since that accomplishment, I just can't find the motivation to go to the gym or lift weights or do anything other than walking. I do this walk during my 30 min. lunch at school. It makes the weight come off slower, but I'm just not motivated to put forth any more effort.

You know I'm dealing with the whole lack of motivation lately. I'm bored with my workout routine I have been doing, I"m bored and tired of counting points (on WW), I'm tired that I cannot figure out how to lose these last few pounds I want to lose.
With that said, tomorrow is my weigh in day and I'm dreading it. Just do not even want to see it!

I weighed in this morning and am down 2 lbs. I am so excited with and can't wait to see what next week brings. I am down a total of 10 lbs now! I started about the beggining of March, so as you can see it is coming off slow but that's okay.

As for Debi and mabennett I'm not much for motivational speaking, never have been and never will be. So with that said pick it up a knotch and let's loose that weight!

Debi - Just a thought though. Maybe you are the weight you should be. Maybe those last few pounds are ment to stay? Just a question to ask yourself.
