When your plans fail? Coming from another thread, a lot of you voiced that you plan things out before doing them. do you feel hurt, or how do you deal?

Our guests just left today. We've enjoyed their company since Thursday and we did have a great time. I invisioned making things more fun for them, I had lots of plans and dh even took some days off. Things didn't go accordingly for one reason or another and I'm physically and emotionally drained today. I have to get up and pick up the whole house and catch up on my laundry. It was fun, just wish we could've done more things.

It depends on how badly I wanted to do the plans if it was something little then I don't really get bothered by it but If it is something I have been wanting to do then I get upset if they fail. What annoys me more than anything is when people say they will do something then don't.

When we go up North to visit dh's family, they have every day planned out for us and they get into a "tizzy" if anything spoils their planes. And most of the time, when we leave I am more stressed out, because they were stress than when I got there. And it was my vacation.

But when they come to visit us, I write down things that I think might interested them. I included inside stuff as well as outside stuff. I don't put dates or even schedule them. I wait till they get here and then i suggest what is available for us to do.

If they want to do it all, ok and if they don't want to do non of it, that's find too.

I always try to have back-up plans, because even the most though out plans usually end up with something going wrong.

I feel overwhelmed when people just come over for the day. I am always worried on if the house is clean enough for when they come. Then I am worried about if they had a good time when they leave. Then cleaning up happens again.

I don't like planning too much because I really enjoy going with the flow. Staying on a schedule really stresses me out sometimes! However, I do get disapointed sometimes when something doesn't live up to my expectations. I think that's what you're meaning, right? I'm sure you had high hopes of things that you were going to do. Try not to obsess about what could have been and think more about the good times you did have (I'm sure there were plenty) even if it wasn't exactly what you had in mind.

We have a major kitchen and dining room reno going on in which dh and I are doing most of the work. It's time consuming and so the kids are all over us. On top of that I've learned two of my online friends are going through some pretty tough times and so I am thinking about them. I am organizing another contest for next month and feel so frazzled about it. My MOMS Club is having a Mothers' Day brunch and I'm supposed to contact all the hubbies. No one has contacted me back....I am fearful it will be a flop. Dh is leaving for the desert on the 21st of May and so we're frantically trying to get everything done before he goes which is making us crazy and giving us very little time together.....and the boys are so rambunctious lately......I'm losing my mind

Oh yah one more thing. I'm planning my son's 5th birthday party for the 9th...and I just MADE all his invite last night! (25 kids...yikes!)
