Do you blame yourself? If your family went through something tough and you look at things in retrospect, do you look for solutions even if its too late?

Something like this happened yesterday. I've had a helluva week I'm telling you, and I can only hope things get better. Dd has a stomach bug that's been very annoying, making her vomit and feeling down. Well, yesterday ds and I went to pick her up early from school since the school nurse called. There's four metal doors at the entrance and ds was struggling to open one. I flung it upon to let him in without realizing his little foot was right in front of it -- I feel so idiotic. Needless to say, his big toe took the hit and his nail went ALL the way back only leaving it attached to the crease at the bottom. He was bleeding out and I ran into the rn's office for help. Aghh, his toenail is blackish blue and looks like hell. Things happen in a matter of seconds and I could've easily avoided this by being extra careful. Oh my, accidents are just that - accidents. Now I'm going to go take care of my sick dd and my ailing ds. Thank God mom & dad will be on their way tomorrow afternoon grandma knows how to make things better.

I agree Grandparents always know how to make things better.

I usually blame myself when things go wrong. I get so caught up in the mistake I make that sometimes I can't find a solution. That's why I have great friends I talk to that help me with a solution.

Sorry to hear about dd and ds.
Big hugs coming your way.

It's always worst when it happens to your kids.

I use to always bump dd head on the car, one day she came out wearing her bicycle helment. She was only about 3 and it was hillarous.

Hope rest of your day, gets better!

Yes, there has been times that I have blamed myself and have looked for solutions even with something that took place years ago. I don't dwell on them, but once in a blue moon, I think what could I have done or should I have done.
