Life is passing you by? That your children being babies seems like it was just yesterday and now they're in grade school? That you were wondering where you'd be in five years and now you're there?

This happens to me and it scares me. My life really is happy and its just going by so quickly. Wish I can "click" a button and put things on slow mode.

You know, I think about this every day and thank my stars that I am able to see how quickly it is going and take advantage of these baby years as much as I can. I've noticed that when I was working, the week went by sooo slowly and now that I'm home it's oh my gosh it's Friday already!? I guess time flies when we're having fun!

Yes, I do feel like this at times, just recently when our DD got her drivers license. I was like man I remember when we brought her home from the hospital and now she is driving and in 2 yrs. she will graduate, no longer our baby, but a young woman. I even think the same way with our DS he is in his last yr. of elementary school and he will enter middle school in the fall.
I swear that sometimes I look at them both and I can actually see them change.

I'm feeling this way. I would like to hit the freeze button on my 2 year old!
In August my oldest will be in kindergarten all day.

I feel that way about a lot of things...

My marriage-what, I've been married almost 12 years already!! Where did the time go?

My kids-they're growing up way too fast. It seemed like just yesterday they were both born, and now our oldest is nine and our youngest will be seven. Where did that time go?

Myself-it seems like I just turned sixteen, and now I'm thirty five. Now, where did that time go???

I think about it every day, too! People are telling me all the time, "enjoy your baby while you can" (she's 9 m/o). And I do. I've always felt like I was running out of time somehow, and working toward nothing and getting nowhere, until I had my daughter. I couldn't get things done fast enough--couldn't get out of high school fast enough, couldn't graduate college fast enough. I was always on the fast-track to getting things done quicker than usual; taking dual-credit courses in hs, loading up on the hours in college to cut out an extra semester. But now, as a S/WAHM to my precious baby, I feel like I'm exactly where I need to be, doing exactly what I should be doing, and I can't slow down enough! I also agree with time flying by faster now that I'm at home w/the babe. Friday always surprises me!

But I refuse to be one of those people who regret not spending enough time w/their kids, or who feel like they've missed out on their kids when they were little, or the people who wonder what they've been working for all the past years. And I think I'm doing good with that goal.
