Last night before bed i was reading a article about Corn syrup and how that and not natural sugar is causing alot of the obesity in the US. It said if you cut out corn syrup you can lose inches around your waste.

Got me to thinking......over the last couple years i've noticed that all my weight gain has gone right to my middle section. It's horrible. I've always felt that although i was "fluffy" i was in pretty good proportion. The last two years that has really changed and i honestly wonder if it has to do with my Starbucks addiction....or just coffee addiction.

I like to have my flavored lattes and they use the flavored syrups....then at home i drink coffee mates and those sorts of flavorings. To the point where i am pretty addicted.

Sooooooooooooo i am going to give up my flavorings and watch everything i eat to make sure it does not have corn syrup....be careful because even crackers can have it in them.....many processed foods do.

Today i did get my starbucks latte but i added two splendas instead of the syrups.......

I am going to measure my tummy (OMG did i just say that....) and see if anything happens in a couple weeks.

Take care all,
Jodie

High fructose Corn syrup and corn starch are sweeteners and fillers added into most manufactured(processed) foods. I'm very aware of it now and read labels and won't buy anything where it's the one of the first 3 ingredients. It's cheap, and the gov't subsidizes it, so many food manufacturers add it to their foods. I started to eat healthy and only "whole foods" and nothing processed....and lost a considerable amount of weight. I wouldn't say it was all from avoiding HFC or Corn starch, but because I only ate healthy foods.

I thought Starbucks used Toroni syrup. If they do then it doesn't have HFCS. I use Toroni here at the house for my husbands Lattes (he has to have his expresso drinks adulterated)!!! I read labels and avoid all processed foods. For the most part we only eat organic. Almost all processed food contain HFCS. Things that you wouldn't even consider sweet has it.

Well that is good to know. I will ask next time if they use Toroni syrup. It would be nice if it doesn't have hfcs. I like my vanilla lattes.
