Ok girls, here's the deal. We had a big thing lined up to start in the late winter but then our plans got muttled and it never came about. So now I am trying to think of ways to keep us motivated and I always go back to the Work Out Buddy program we did last year....but like the Secret Sister thing, some people bailed and brought the spirits of everyone else down and I don't want that.

So, I'm looking for input for ideas to challenge ourselves this summer. Some of us have been working out for awhile and need something to boost our time in the gym, while others are new to the working out thing and need something to keep us motivated, while there are others who have never stepped foot in the gym and need some help getting there.

So, post your ideas here. This is our BRAINSTORMING session. Each idea we post will hopeful spider web into a larger idea and we can come up with something to get the ball rolling!

I would love a new challenge! I miss our challenges. I know all of you runners have been doing challenges with the couch to 5k and all the races y'all are running, but running just isn't my thing. I am going on my first beach trip of the year 4 weeks from tomorrow and I would love to firm up the jiggly parts on my legs that just don't seem to be changing with my current routine. I am happy with my weight, I love the way I look in clothes, but I am still not comfortable enough with my body to just waltz around in my bikini without a little sarong or something. I want this summer to FINALLY be the summer that I can be at the pool or the beach without feeling self conscious.

So whatcha got in mind, Doozer? I'm READY!

I am too but I just don't know what. I am going to see if I can find a site that my trainer used to use and see about posting daily/weekly challenges based on our experience level. I will see if I can find that.

Do you have any suggestions/ideas?

I will have to think. I would like to get in on something like this, too.

About 3 weeks ago I started a new lower body workout program that I found in Oxygen magazines Glute issue. It's a real but buster. I honestly don't know how they expect a beginner to do the "beginner" plan. I started out doing one cycle (you are supposed to do 3). I just got to 3 today. I figure I will do this for the next week or two and then move on to the "advanced". Anyone wanting a better butt, might consider joining me

The more I think about it, the more I think it would make sense to do the Work Out Buddy thing again! We're all at different levels of fitness right now so to do a group thing would be a little difficult but also very hard to manage (from a moderator's perspective). However, I can get with Debi and we can try and come up with some challenges for you all. I want some too!

I didn't pay any attention to the WOMAN challenge that Debi was spearheading since I figured it was for running, but I just read a post that said it starts tomorrow. What is the deal with that? How many mommysavers are on the team? Is that something we should try to get motivated about to do together? Debi - tell us more! I wanted to look at the mommysavers team but I don't think I can see unless I register, and I don't want to register if I am not going to commit to it.

Maggie - it is just getting you to move more -- how to incorporate more exercise into your day. There is a good chunk of MS members that joined the team. I don't know the exact # (I can check later).
