Okay ladies!! Let's get this started!
I'm counting this week as week 1. It is already tuesday, but we're starting off simple. Let's check in on Mondays, I'll post on Sunday night since I'm in CA and behind many of you in time. I think Monday will work well because sometimes we have more time on the weekend for walking and I want to hear about it! I'll also post the new challenge/goals for each week on Monday.

Week 1, Goal #1: Get a pedometer!
This includes me. I've never had one, yet have always wanted one, I just had a hard time justifying the cost. Now I truly NEED one. It will hold me accountable for the steps I have not taken and give me credit for the steps I have. It's also a great feeling when you take a walk and realize how many steps it was, every step counts!

Week 1, Goal #2: Fit 20 minutes of walking into every day!
I'm not focusing on distance or speed yet, just find that 20 minutes every day. I don't care if it's multiple walks that add up to 20 minutes total or one longer walk. This is as simple as taking your kids for a walk around the neighborhood, I do this with my 2 year old all the time. Maybe I'm not speed walking, but I'm moving, going up and down hills and making the time to be active. If I don't get out to take a long walk by myself, then I take a small walk in the morning and after dinner in the neighborhood, the dog, dh and ds come along. If I add those 2 walks together, it's over 30 minutes!

In later weeks, we'll talk about mapping out routes, measuring distances, increasing distance and increasing speed. But, for now, let's start simple, we can get technical once everyone is comfortable This week all you need to focus on is getting out there and doing it!

Have a blessed week,
Elizabeth

I'm on it! When the kids get off the bus we'll go for our walk. I need a pedometer too.

Found my old pedometer and dusted it off . Made sure it is working and I am set. Will treadmill walking count also?

You are so organized. You rock! I'll be out of town for the next 10 days but I will be putting in my 4 miles every day. I will check in with y'all when I get back. Good luck!
