It's rare that I get sunburns but when I do I tend to really lotion up. The process I hate the most is peeling so I figure I will moisturize my skin as much as possible to avoid or at least prevent some huge peeling fiasco!!!

I also like using aloe vera lotion right out of the shower on the first day of the burn. The shower takes the hot out and the lotion takes the sting out of it.

What do you do?

Aloe Vera is my first choice! And if it is really bad (Haven't had that happen for awhile knock on wood) a tea bath....a cool bath with tea bags steeped in it...Something about the tannins takes the sting out

I actually don't use too much lotion because I find it actually aggravates my sunburn. When it gets to the peeling point, I prefer to gently exfoliate instead of sticking on a bunch of lotion, esp if it's on my face.

I got one right now- believe it or not I truly feel that I sweated off my SPF yesterday! I don't have any aloe lotion right now (or an aloe plant- it died during the move!)- I use my Dh's lotion- it's called after suncare and smells so yummy (like fruit loops cereal!).

My family uses vinegar. You mis half water/ half vinegar on a wash cloth and leave it on the burn, occasionally rewetting the wash cloth. I've never peeled if I do that right after I'm burnt. It feels nice and soothing because it's cold.

After I use the vinegar I'll sometimes use aloe. But that's only after having the vinegar on for a day.

I just thought of something I used to use growing up- Noxema- can't stand the smell of that stuff but it works great for sunburn on your face!
