What a week for all of us so far! Bad weather, busy lives, and I have a 13 year old living with me right now and she's sucking the life force out of me! I'm still getting out for 20 minute neighborhood walks here and there, but no long walks where I feel awesome afterwards, very frustrating!

I'm happy to see you are still trying to get out there and I'm impressed at all you guys are doing. Soucyx6, I'm so jealous of your treadmill right now, as I'm sure some of the others are too, you can walk in all kinds of weather!

Stay motivated ladies! I am cooking up a plan for the forum which is pretty awesome, with rewards for good behavior So, keep on walking, and make sure you are keeping track of your miles (has anyone used the online pedometer? I love it!). It is very important to keep track to give yourself credit on my new plan. Hmmmm, what could it be??? I'll post later today when I have time to write it all out.

Weather around here is crappy as well, rain on and off since Friday of last week. I am definitely jealous of the treadmill. On the days I haven't been able to take my walk, I've felt crabbier than usual, just because I'm enjoying it so much. The walk ds and I take is 1.7 miles, but I hope to increase the distance soon. Gotta get him in the habit of eating a later dinner first, since we usually walk as soon as we get home from work.

This week has been really bad for me. I got out on Monday & Tuesday but I've been off work Wednesday, today and will be again tomorrow. That's where I get most of my walking in. My granfather died and I've been having a lot going on with that. I'm hoping to get into a better routine this coming week.

Riley'smom, I'm so sorry about your grandfather. I hope your family is doing okay during this difficult time. Hopefully you can get back to your normal routine soon, it always feels so good when life starts to get back to normal.

I finally got a pedometer that I think works well enough. It will only count my steps if the cap is shut - so I can't see it ticking away. I tested it by taking a few steps and then opening it to see what it counted.

I must say I was excited to see I had almost 11,000 steps before 6:30 AM today. I was bummed when I switched it to miles mode and saw it was less than 5 miles. I thought for sure the route I walked this morning was almost 6 miles. I was bummed to see that all my walking equaled less than 400 calories too.

I will try to take the boys on a walk tomorrow since I can't get out in the morning before DH goes to work. On Thurday evening a girlfriend wants to walk with me too. I need to map out how far away she lives from me and then walk to her house and back since I don't know how far she wants to walk. On Saturday morning I am planning a 7 or 8 mile walk around a lake with some ladies I have never met before.

I tried out my new shoes today - they felt good. I also tried new socks that I didn't really like - made my feet really hot and there was too much material around the ankle. Any suggestions? Also, any suggestions on a good pair of underwear ?

Okay - on with my day. I woke up at 4:15AM to get ready, stretch, and head out the door by 5 AM.

I am on track, my usual 4 miles a day, 5 on weekends. I love that Google maps tool but my walk is either too complicated or I am walking way more than I thought. I was using the calcualtion of 3.5 miles per hour, I guess I walk faster than that. DH says I walk as fast as alot of people jog.
