What items are a MUST HAVE in anyone's wardrobe?

I would say I think:
1) black dress (knee length or longer) that can be dressed up or down
2) Black dress pants
3) a shoulder wrap or cardigan as an extra layer for casual or dressy affairs in the spring, fall and cool summer evenings
4) Black hdeels.

I am partial to black, as you can see!

What other items are a WARDROBE must have?

Khacki pants
Jeans
White blouse

White t-shirts; capris & casual cotton sweats (especially in the fall/winter) -- these are my loungy type clothes I turn to regularly!

Yeah, I have a black dress and have worn it once, so I don't really consider it a necessity!! I never wear heels so I don't thnk they are necessary either.

I would say: comfortable jeans
jean capris
variety t-shirts
variety of sweaters
black pants
tan pants

for work:
nice dress pants in assorted colors (navy, black, gray for me)
tops to go with them - assorted styles
blazers to go with them - nothing gives you more power than putting a blazer on
appropriate shoes to go with the dress pants - heels, dress sandals, etc for me
nice black boots for winter

for casual:
jeans that fit great
nice shorts I can dress up or down
tops or sweaters
