I'm so excited for you! Keep us posted on how your training is going.

I'd love to try one but I can swim - other than the doggie paddle

What a great challenge! Best of luck...and a great time of year to train for the swimming portion!

Keep us posted on your training: the highs, lows and all the in between!

You should have seen me at my first race. It took me 30 minutes to swim 1/2 a mile and of course I was in the first wave of swimmers so I had all the waves of swimmers behind me swim over me because I was so slow . Thankfully I made friends with a swimmer who gave me free private swim lessons, in exchange for me paying for her to get into the pool .
You could always do a relay team, one swimmer, one bicyclist and one runner or try a duathlon which is run, bike, run.

I found my training plan on trinewbies.com. If you're interested here it is. I'm going to modify the swimming since it's only 500 meters (20 laps). I'm doing the beginner plan because I haven't done a triathlon in a few years.
