Have you made your wishes known for your funeral arrangements when you pass on? Have you formalized your wishes in a will or by preplanning with a funeral director? The music, the speakers, the outfit, the location of the services and the burial?

I really haven't. I've always thought that a funeral should be for the loved ones left behind - A way for them to remember the deceased and honor their loved one.

What are your thoughts?

Everything that we want is in writing. The burial plots are bought, and our wishes as far as the funeral home and service plans are also in writing.

We keep all of this with a copy of our will and the person who is over our estate knows where we keep everything. Also we go thru them every so often and update everything.

I feel like this will take a big burden off of our family. Also we both have kids by a pervious marriage, and this will keep a lot of bickering from happening on the parts of the kids and stepkids.

I don't have a will or anything. I've just talked to my fiance and mom about it.

I want to be cremated then buried and I want a totally secular funeral/memorial.

That's about all I've decided.

It is recommended that funeral wishes not be included in a will because the will generally isn't read until after the funeral is over.

We have medical power of attorney documents signed. On the last page is our final wishes. We already own a burial plot. All the other details are left up to the person doing the planning. It is hard enough on them without me leaving 'requirements' that they have to follow.

Same here...no funeral, no receiving friends...no service whatsoever.
