I didn't have a very good run today. My runs have been off this week. I feel like I'm running faster but my time isn't showing it. It doesn't help that it's hot out in the morning.

Not to mention I feel like a BAD MOMMY! My baby Samantha has been driving me crazy this week. She has been more fussy than usual. I wasn't sure if I was going to go running this morning because she kept me up late. But she woke up at 430 to eat and she wanted to eat again at 630. So I feed her and decided I needed to get out of the house. I ran about 2 1/2 miles and then decided to walk the other 1/2 mile so it would take longer to get home! When I got close to the house I decided to walk more and walked another 1/2 mile. All I could think is she was going to be awake and fussy. When I did finally go back home dd was curled up with dh and asleep.I was so relieved.

Maybe my next run will go better....

You aren't a bad mommy, you just needed a well deserved break. That is one of my favorite things about running, I get a mental break.

It is so much harder to run in the heat. It was all I had to get through my last two runs. The humidity was terrible.

Give yourself a break, at least you're chugging along

Don't feel bad! I love my children but I also love my workout time, depending on the day I'm having sometimes I love my workout more (just kidding).

Sounds like a good run and like your body is adjusting to the heat. If it's a lot warmer it's probably not such a good idea to concentrate on speed until you're completely acclimated. Remember to drink lots of water, take a water bottle with you on your run especially if it's really warm outside.

Also, how long since you've been running? Make sure you're not overtraining.. one of the biggest symptoms is feeling like you have to work harder to keep up the same level of fitness that you did before. If you start getting irritable and constantly feel tired, even after a full nights rest, then it's time for a week or two off.

You ladies are great! You always make me feel better. Thank you everyone for your input and advice. You made me laugh Skimommy because I do feel like I'm chugging along.

Armywife, I have been running for 3 almost 4 months. I try and remind myself that it hasn't been that long. I plan on getting a camelpack in the next few days. My arm always gets tight when I run with a water bottle. And you are so right I can tell my body is trying to get used to the heat. I keep trying to remind myself that I just had a baby in early Feb and not to push to hard.

So as for dd getting fussy a lot lately, I looked and saw that she is teething! She was showing signs of it about 3 or 4 wks ago but I didn't see anything and she stopped. I looked again at bath time tonight and I saw the 2 little white spots under her gums. Oh boy. DH is leaving for 2 weeks tomorrow and I have a teething baby.

Have you heard of Hyland's teething tablets. You can even give them to your itty bitty. They worked great for my girls. I bought imine at CVS or Walmart.

I'm glad you are feeling better

I had a bad run yesterday. I think it just depends on different factors as to whether you have a good day or not. I know for me, it is alot harder to run in the hot and humidity. I feel like the little engine that could but can't! LOL As long as you are out there doing it, you should be proud of yourself. You're not a bad mom either. We all need breaks from our kids once in a while.

Thank you Skimommy. I haven't heard of those tablets before. I plan on going to walmart in the morning. I think this teething thing is going to take awhile. I can see the teeth under the gums but I have a feeling it may be a bit before they come through

I'm sorry. My dd just got all 4 molars in at once and it sucked big time. One side came out and then went back in again causing a blood blister. For everyone's sake I hope that you're dd's teeth come in fast and she's back to her normal self.

Have you gone running again? How was it?
