Okay, any of my daily underwear that I wear is not working when I walk at a faster rate. Do you have a favorite brand or style you wear to work out/run/walk?

Cotton or other fabric? - I don't want a SWAS (Sweaty A$$)
Style that won't bunch or gather or ride into a thong? (thong not good for 60 miles).

TIA

You are too funny!

I just wear Old Navy hipsters in cotton or nylon material. I don't have any problems when I run.

Typically I wear cotton thongs. I cannot wear anything else when working out or else I end up with a wedgie and picking my butt for most of my workout!

I don't wear underwear . My usual gym attire is either form fitting pants or capris. For triathlon training it's either a bathing suit, tri shorts for the bike, and tri shorts or running shorts for the run. If for some reason I do wear baggy shorts to the gym I will wear my microfiber hipster panties, just so I don't flash someone while lifting weights or doing core exercises .

Thank you ladies! I don't know what was funnier - the fact that I actually posted about underwear or the answers I got - totally not expecting them (not sure why not)

Okay - armywife and maggie - do you buy those in an athletic store like Chicks, Sports Chalet, Big 5, or at a normal department store or Target, Kohls, etc?

I'm thinking cotton may not be so good. They warn you against cotton socks because they hold the moisture and cause blisters on your feet. I would HATE to get a blister on my butt or elsewhere because of cotton underwear .

The shorts I got at Target. You can find them at any sporting good store too and online.

Personally I don't like cotton to work out in, unless I'm lifting or doing something where I'm not getting too sweaty. Chaffing between the legs is NOT fun.

Well I just happen to still be wearing some after my morning walk so I am looking down and noticing that sure enough they are NOT cotton. They are microfiber with a cotton crotch. Now I am looking in my drawer and seeing that they are all like this. I buy mine at sporting goods stores and the brands are well known names like Asics, Adidas, and Nike. I also get them at places like Marshalls and TJ Maxx in the "activewear" department. They are not that expensive and they last me a couple of years with heavy use and I just wash them in the washing machine and hang them up to dry. I love them because they are short so they don't give me any chafing and they have a tiny pocket at the inside of the waistband to put my housekey in. I never wear cotton t shirts either - I always wear tanks with sports bras built in that are very form fitting. I don't like bumping into my clothes when I am exercising.
