between an annual and a physical? I called to make an appointment today and I was wondering if there was a difference between the two. I used to go to an obgyn for an annual but I found a really good family practice dr that I really like so I want to make sure that I make the right kind of appointment.

I think annual and physical are the same. A physical from your family doctor includes BP, cholesterol, weight. The OB/GYN physical is the pap test, BP, weight.

I used to go to my GP for my annual, which I consider the whole pap/pelvic. When I hear "physical", I think of DH's CDL physical - BP, heart rate, general wellness check.

I'd call and just make sure it's for the whole pap/pelvic and everything if you are concerned - or just ask them

Just call and ask to clarify it so you're sure.

I would probably ask to be sure...and clarify the terms they're using and what they entail.

I go every year to my OB/GYN, eye doctor and skin doctor...for what those guys specialize in. Then I go (Dh too) every year for a "full physical", from our iternist, who does the full blood panel, full check-up etc

That's how I think of it too. I'd call to be sure.

In my GP's office a physical is checking blood work, reflexes, overall healthiness, etc. and the annual is for the woman's pap test and anything else that is needed or if it was for a man it would to do his yearly checkup down there. I have never had the annual at my GP office, I have a seperate OB/GYN for that. I would call your doctor to clarify.
