The other day at the library a lady was telling me about Mary Kay's new line of mineral products. I am also a bzz agent and just received the new Max Factor bzz kit which included some mineral blush.

Have any of you used mineral make up and what do you think of it?

I love the Bare Minerals foundation, but I don't use it anymore because it is really expensive. I have tried the Loreal, Revlon, and Neutrogena mineral powder foundations and did not like them, they had no coverage at all to me. So unless I am able to buy the Bare Minerals brand, I don't use mineral makeup.

Right now, what I do is use cream or liquid foundation and then go over that with powder. When you use the mineral powder do you skip the cream/liquid foundation?

I love mineral makeup. I tried Avon first when I sold it, I loved it. Then I tried some from a website I learned about here that gave free samples, with just shipping and handling. I forgot what it was called, but I loved that one too.
I then bought the Nutrogena one with the built in brush, and I hated it. I couldn't get enough product to shake out of it, so I broke into it, and poured it into my old avon container and used my regular fondation brush. It poofs all over the place when you try to put it on, I get it all over, it is one big mess.
When it is all gone I will go back to that stuff I found online, or buy some avon stuff again.
I love mineral makeup so much better than liquid foundation. It covers better, and feels light.

And yes, when I use the mineral makeup, I skip the liquid foundation. I think you can smooth a little water over your face when you are done if you like that better.

Thanks Penelope!

I wouldn't mind skipping it as long as I felt I had coverage. That would be nice, one less thing to put on.

I love Bare Minerals. I've been using it for 4 years now and would never think of going back to liquid or creme make-up. I have found the coverage to be great!

I use Avon mineral makeup and I love it. At first, I would use liquid foundation and then the mineral makeup, but found it made me look way too dark.. so now I just use the moisturizer and then the translucent powder then the foudation powder. It looks just like my other makeup did, but better because I have less creases and wrinkles with the mineral makeup.

I started using it (for the rare times I wear makeup). I really like it. It is very shear and light weight. I think the one I have is covergirl. I just brush it on instead of liquid foundation. I find it covers most things naturally, not heavily like some liquides, except the occasional blemish (then I use a dab of liquid).

I use Loreal. The powder foundation, powder "top coat," (it's not translucent, but more like the powder you use with liquid foundation) blush, powder concealer, and eye shadow. I'm really happy with them. They can be pricey, but if you watch the sales, you can get BOGO free or 1/2 off. I haven't tried tried any of their lip product, mascara or "finishing powder".

When I used the Bare Minerals I skipped liquid/creme foundations, because the coverage was great just with their powders. However, when I have tried other brands, I have had to use the liquid foundation underneath to get enough coverage.
