my plantar fascitis is back!!!! For anyone who does not know what this is it is inflammation of the tissue/tendon that runs from your heel to your toes.... I think maintaining the arch of the foot. Anyways I suffered from this several years ago and it magically went away when I got pregnant with ds... I had it really bad in both feet and could hardly walk.

Now I have started working part time as a cashier and am on my feet a lot more and it has made it's return

I tried physio last time and went for months and it didn't seem to help. I went and got a tensor designed for it today and will where it to work tonight but need ANY suggestions from anyone else that has had this....... I know being on my feet is going to make it even worse

The only thing that helps mine is the orthodic inserts I got from my podiatrist and good shoes. (Not a cheap solution at all!)

Read everything you can at plantar fasciitis, heel spur, heel pain.

Before you get up from bed, or from sitting a long time, stretch your foot. Do this by writing the alphabet as if you had a pencil between your toes. Or do ankle circles - 10 or 20 on each foot.

Every time you step when you first get up and fail to stretch - you are re-injuring it, which is why it's very hard to recover from.

Get birkenstock shoes. I've switched nearly all my shoes to birks and have worn them exclusively for years. Now, the last 2 years or so, I've been able to move on to Dansko and Earth shoes. Wear the birks at work. Birks are very popular w/ nurses and chefs as they are on their feet all the time.

Keep a can of beans in the fridge, and roll it with your feet each time you sit down. Remove the label, so you dont use it for anything else.

I feel your pain. The biggest thing i did was get shoes that fit right and were supportive. Stretching helps some..good luck
