What is your first name?
Jennifer but I go by Jen
What are your kids’ names and ages?
Ava Lynne (5) and Ian James (9 months)
How did you find Mommysavers? Have you referred anyone here? Were you referred here?
After I had Ava, I was looking for ways to save money and Mommysavers popped up. I have mentioned this site to a few people but I don’t know if they have checked it out.
What does your user name mean?
I’m Ava’s Mommy!
Out of all the things the members here have offered in terms of advice, support, counsel and criticism, what have you personally benefited from? And do you remember specifically who the member was that offered that advice?
I have learned so much from everyone. I post very little but I gather as much information as I can from everyone. Pretty much learn something new every day.
How many coupons do you use on a regular basis?
0
What was your most recent "bargain"?
8 totes of boy clothes for Ian – for free.
What have you done to save money this week?
Not going to Wal-Mart during my breaks.
What do you consider a way of life that others think is a crazy way to save?
There is nothing that I can think of.
What is your favorite store in which to find bargains?
I rarely go shopping – If I need to buy clothes I can usually find good deals in Old Navy and The Children’s Place online. I usually buy things at our local 2nd hand store or at rummage sales.
What is the best deal you ever found (even if it wasn’t at your favorite store)?
Ava’s 1st snowsuit at Sears. Regular $50, I paid $5.
What is your best money saving tip?
Find friends/relatives to trade kids clothes with. I probably spent a total of maybe $50, if that, in almost 6 years on clothes for Ava and I have yet to buy clothes for Ian and I’m set with him until 5T!
What is your favorite frugal meal?
In the summer, probably hamburgers or brats with fresh veggies from the garden. In the winter – box of pasta and sauce.
Do you enter contests? If so, what is the best prize you’ve ever won?
Nope
If money were no object, what 3 things would you buy yourself or your family?
Disney vacation, New pick-up for hubby, and add another room to the house
If you had $10 to spend on yourself (you and you alone) what would you buy?
The most difficult question on here. Umm, rent a movie and buy my favorite candy to pig out on.
Are there words you live by? What are they?
Actions speak louder than words. This is something that I have to work on daily. I can tell my husband or kids that I love them but I also have to show them by my actions. And I admit that I get lazy sometimes with that.
