**Love that Picture Jenn***

**Disclaimer**

MS Mom of the Week is a fun way for us to get to know the Mommysavers members. The Mom of the Week is randomly selected a week in advance of her being featured. I do this so I can contact you, let you know your feature date, and arrange to receive from you a picture of yourself and/or you and your kids to include with the survey. Having a picture included with the survey is so we can make it a little more personal and put a name to a face. This is optional of course, as are all the questions being asked. If I don’t hear back from you before your “feature” date, I will randomly select the next person and then get back to you the next round. Mom of the Week will be featured on Monday mornings. Please keep in mind you are free to answer as many or as few of the questions as you want. This entire thing is on a voluntary basis. Newbies to the board as well as regulars are welcome to participate. If you are interested in participating please PM Christy_K_ and we will get you signed up. We look forward to getting to know you!!

Let’s get started!!!

Okay! So here goes nothing!!

What is your first name?Jennifer

What are your kids’ names?Jordan, Blakely, Tyler and Caleb

Were you ready for motherhood? Not really! Actually my first child (Blakely) came along when I was 19. I was in college and not married, so I really wasn't ready. He has turned out to be such a huge blessing, I can't imagine life without him. I love him so much! Looking back now, it really was the best thing that could have happened at that time. It also led me to my now dh. My oldest son is actually my stepson, although I have raised him since he was almost 4. My dh and I actually got together because we would get the kids together and play and things just grew from there. Once we were married, dh adopted my son and we thought we had a full family. A few years later, we decided we would like one of our own, and then less than a year after that, we decided maybe one more. I think we are through now though with 4!

Have you ever met someone who has completely inspired you to be a better person? Can you tell us about that relationship and how it has affected you? My sister-in-law. She is such a wonderful person. She goes out of her way to help people, and to make people feel good. She is great at writing cards of encouragement, and making you feel like everything you do is the greatest thing she has ever seen! She also has such an amazing relationship with God. She can bring His goodness and love into every conversation so effortlessly.
Do you have any nervous habits? What are they? I don't know about nervous habits, but when I am really tired, I scratch my head. My dh always tells me people are going to think I have lice or something because I just scratch away! LOL!!!
Did you ever date a guy your parents did not like? Were they right about him?Unfortunately I think I dated many guys my parents didn't like! And yes, most of the time they were right! The only one they were really wrong about was my DH. They really didn't like him at first but I think it was more about the age difference, and he was divorced and raising a son (Dh is 7 years older than me), and I was only 20 when we started dating and already had a son, so I think they were just trying to be protective. Now they absolutely adore DH, so that's nice!

What do you want your kids to remember the most about you?I mainly want my kids to remember I was always there for them. I have sacrificed a lot to get to stay home with my kids and I always put myself last to make sure they have endless opportunites to do or try things. I also want them to know I love them unconditionally. They are my life, and I can't imagine life without them!

What did you learn the most from your mother?I learned so many things from my mother. I have an absolutely amazing mother! She taught me the importance of family. And to love with all your heart. She taught me to cook, and taught me to sew, and most importantly, she taught me to love life and love God.

How many coupons do you use on a regular basis? What is your best money saving tip?It really depends. It seems to go in cycles. I will go for a while and do great with coupons, and then I find I don't use any coupons at all! I can't seem to get consistent with them. My best money saving tip I think is to not go shopping unless you need something. I've started doing that and it is amazing what I don't spend if I just stay out of they stores! I also hardly ever buy anything unless it is on sale!

How did you find Mommysavers? Have you referred anyone here? Were you referred here?I was doing a search on decorating children's rooms, and this site came up. I have been here for probably close to 2 years now, and I am hooked! I don't get to post much, but I definately jump on all the time to read and catch up. I haven't referred anyone yet because I feel like this is my safe haven. I can get on here and vent about anyone or anything and no one really knows me, so I can do that. I think if I led people here that I really knew, I would have to think about what I was saying, and may not say what I really feel!

Out of all the things the members here have offered in terms of advice, support, counsel and criticism, what have you personally benefited from? And do you remember specifically who the member was that offered that advice?I love to read it all. There are so many wonderful women here who are so full of insight. It is amazing what a diverse group of women we have and I think anyone can find at least one person here to connect with. Probably the person who offered the most to me would have to be blessed_w_6. When I posted about my music pastor's grandson, and all he was going through, she pm'ed me and asked if there was anything she could do, and was so sincere about it. I truly think I could have asked her, and she would have done it! Thank you.

Have you ever met a mommysaver? No, but I would love to! I'm kind of a scaredy cat though. I hear all the stories about people making up identities online so I have this fear if I ever did decide to meet someone, I would be the one that would wind up with the looney! LOL!!!

What is the most romantic thing your dh ever did for you?My 30th birthday was this year, and dh took me to Maui to celebrate. He booked the whole thing himself and booked the childcare for our boys! That alone was huge! He didnt' tell me where we were going until we got to the airport. He only told me it was warmer there than it was here at home! Then, when we returned back home, he said he was taking me to dinner and when we showed up, he had planned a suprise birthday party at one of my favorite Italian restuarants and there were like 30 of our closest friends and family members there! It was amazing! He is a wonderful dh!!!
Tell us five things you like about yourself. My smile. My hair (most days!). I think I am a good friend. My eyes. I'm dependable.

What hobby do you enjoy the most? What got you started on it? How would you rate yourself? Can you show us a picture of your proudest piece of work?I probably enjoy reading most of all, but I also like to knit. I'm not that good at it, but I am getting better at scarves!!! My mom bought me a beginner knitting kit last year for Christmas and that is how I got started. I will have to see if I can find a picture of one of my scarves!

How many frogs did you kiss before you found Mr. Right? Was he worth the wait? I guess I kissed my share, but I sure am glad I found Mr. Right when I did! He was definately worth the wait. I love him more and more everyday! He truly is an amazing man, and I am so blessed to have him as my husband!

What is your favorite genre of music? Who is your favorite group? Have you ever seen them in concert? My favorite type of music is Christian Rock/Alternative. Right now my favorite group is NewsBoys. I love their new album Go. I have seen them in concert several times and they put on an amazing show. It is so upbeat and crazy, but so worshipful at the same time.

List three things you have on your Life List; things you would like to accomplish before you leave this worldI'm not really sure. I am bad about not focusing on myself, only on others or my family.

Which room in your house best reflects your personality?Probably my kitchen. It is always full of family stuff. There always seem to be games on the table, or toys where I have been playing with the kids. It is also very open and airy and comfortable. Many of my friends like to just sit in the kitchen with me and enjoy a cup of tea or just sit and talk.

What do you see your children growing up to be like? What career path would they choose? My children are all very strong willed! I see my oldest growing up to be his own boss. He definately is the oldest and likes to be in charge! My 11 yr old would be great as a vet, or even a pediatrician. He is so compassionate and loving to animals and to small children. My 5 yr old is probably going to be an engineer of sorts. He loves building things and is always drawing plans of some sort and concocting some idea of what to make next. My 3 yr old is my wild card! He just goes, goes, goes! Whatever he does, he will be great at it! I just want them to be happy in life with whatever they choose to do.

Is there something we would never guess about you? Some kind or quirk you have no one close to you knows about. (C’mon tell us!!!!) I am extremely messy! I think I have clutter in every corner of my house. I am a horrible cleaner. I try really hard to get things cleaned up, and I just can't do it! My house is not dirty, it's just very messy!!! ( I guess having 4 boys and a husband that travels a lot doesn't really help that, does it?!?!?!) I am bad about just hiding the piles when we have company over!

Are there words you live by? What are they? I really try to live by this bible verse.... Matthew 6:34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. I try to live like each day may be my last and I don't want to have any regrets.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share! I don't have a lot of time most days to post, so I usually only post to the things I'm most drawn to. I do read most all of the posts though, so even when I don't respond, I am thinking of you ladies!
