What is your first name? Bekah
What are your kids’ names and ages? Annalee (age 2 1/2) and one more due in March!
How did you find Mommysavers? Have you referred anyone here? Were you referred here? I was doing a search for money saving deals online. I refer EVERYONE to mommysavers because I think everyone should check out the BEST place to save money on the web!
What does your user name mean? It's my daughter's nickname, Annie
Out of all the things the members here have offered in terms of advice, support, counsel and criticism, what have you personally benefited from? And do you remember specifically who the member was that offered that advice? Just the overall feeling and atmosphere of the site is GREAT! You can get information about just about anything concerning your household or ask and someone will answer! It's like having a whole army of "go-to" people!
How many coupons do you use on a regular basis? If I can find a coupon for anything we use on a regular basis, I use it!
What was your most recent "bargain"? 22 pieces of summer clothing for next year (for my daughter) for $98 including shipping from The Children's Place.
What have you done to save money this week? I come on here pretty much every way to see what bargains are to be had. I also get in on the great coupon "wheeling and dealing" that can be done at Target and CVS.
What do you consider a way of life that others think is a crazy way to save? Well I shop ahead like crazy! I already have most of my Christmas shopping done, plus my daughter has all of her clothing and most of her shoes through this time next year! I'm just always thinking ahead! With only my husband working full time and one more child on the way, I have to think this way to make it work!
What is your favorite store in which to find bargains? I have lots of favs: The Children's Place, Old Navy, Target, CVS, and Gabriel Brothers (that's a local closeout store where I can buy things like Anne Taylor jeans for $10!)
What is the best deal you ever found (even if it wasn’t at your favorite store)? There are too many to choose from! But one item we have had for 6 years and still think it's a great investment, was a cooler we bought at Shopko! It's like a huge nylon lunch box with a shoulder strap and a flap so you can reach into it without opening the whole thing. It's wonderful! We use is every time we go anywhere and I have lent it to friends and family. It's still in perfect condition and it was like $12!
What is your best money saving tip? Plan ahead, make a list for everything, whether it's grocery list, christmas gift list, or just a list of household items that you have been meaning to get. Then just keep your eyes and ears open at stores, read the sale papers, check out clearance sections, and do online searches for coupons!
What is your favorite frugal meal? Pastitsio (sp?) It's so good and doesn't cost any more to make than a pan of lasagna!
Do you enter contests? If so, what is the best prize you’ve ever won? Occasionally, the best prizes I have won have been here on mommysavers. I won that huge lot that inlcuded boutique style baby clothing and books! I let my daught choose her two favorite books and split the rest up into 3 different baby gifts for others! Saved me alot of money and they got REALLY great gifts!
If money were no object, what 3 things would you buy yourself or your family? First: A house, with a really GREAT backyard that's big enough for entertaining (our house is pretty small) friends and hosting holidays. Second: If money were NO object, a plane so we could see the world as a family! Third: I would provide for my parents, my inlaws, and our siblings and nieces and nephews that need a hand-up, college funds and ect.
If you had $10 to spend on yourself (you and you alone) what would you buy? Either a book, or I would find a great pair of jeans at a great price (mine seem to wear out like crazy!)
Are there words you live by? What are they? Just always be yourself and do what YOU think it best for your family. Seek any advise and counsel you may need, but remember that you and you alone are responsible for yourself and your family. So no matter what anyone says, be true to what you think it right!
Sum yourself up in 1 word: blessed
