Nice to learn more about you!
Which hotel did you stay at in Destin? How did you score that deal? We've stayed at the Holiday Inn there. I'd love to hear more about it...

Oh wow! I completely forgot about all this!! lol!!
Thank you guys so much for the sweet comments!!
Well, an update. The house situation. After six grueling months, we are no longer planning on building our new dream house, much to my demise and dismay. The bank we have been dealing with, all this time, has stalled, BS'd around, and basically drug their feet, and FINALLY came to us and said that they won't loan us the money to build our house because our builder (my uncle, who is licensed, registered, bonded and insured with the state of texas) isn't an LLC. Which is totally untrue, he does not HAVE TO be an LLC, to do so. So, either we were to find another builder, who we can't afford, or just buy something. Well, we decided to can that bank and move to another, a credit union here locally. They had no problems with our builder situation, and said no problem to the loan. But basically, before we found out that they'd ok it, I began looking at places to buy, and move. That, combined with the fact that it would honestly cost us more than we thought initially to get all we wanted out of our new place, we talked ourselves out of it. A few days later, DH happened across a home in a very nice older neighborhood that was still for sale, and compeletly gutted. So....long story short, we are buying this place to rehab completely. It is the perfect place (other than our dream house that we had drawn up) for us, and is huge, and we got a steal on it! So, as soon as we are able to close on it, we will get started! Supposed to close on or before sept 28th, but cross your fingers that everything goes through! This FEMA trailer is closing in around us and literally driving us crazy. Please keep us in your thoughts through this time, that we are able to do what we want, in the budget we are allotted!!
Thanks again ladies, you all are way too sweet!!!

Congrats on MOTW!
Good luck with getting into your new house, dealing with banks these days is horrible.

Keeping fingers, toes, and other appendages crossed for you. Rehabbing a gutted house is the next best thing to building your own.
Having lived in a few trailers in my younger days, I know how confining they can feel. I'd go nuts in one, especially with a baby.

Thanks phoenyx, for sure! The positives about rehabbing this place, is just everything. It's a huge house, even bigger than the one we wanted to build, on more land, with a three car garage AND an RV/boat garage/shop in the back. In a nicer neighborhood, with more resale value, and I couldnt' be happier with the choice. I'm so stinkin' excited, I really hope we can get started on time! THIS TIME AROUND::::FULL FLOOD INSURANCE POLICY, THE MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE! LMAO!
Also, grew up in a trailer until I was ten, but THIS FEMA one, is TINNNNY. It's 12 by 40. Yes, 480 square feet. Almost 1/3 of the size of the house we did live in, and almost 1/7 the size of this new place we are buying. There is no where to hide clutter, so staying on top of taht is a daily challenge. It just sucks, although I'm glad and appreciate having the roof over our heads. We could live with family again, but NO THANKYOU. However, now seeing there could finally be a light at the end of this terrible tunnel, makes me sleep a little easier. Please let this happen for us. It's been a full 11 months since the storm that took our home, and we are STILL not in a house again. Somethign good has to happen, right??!!
