**Disclaimer**

MS Mom of the Week is a fun way for us to get to know the Mommysavers members. Newbies to the board as well as regulars are welcome to participate. The Mom of the Week is randomly selected a week in advance of her being featured. I do this so I can contact you, let you know your feature date, and arrange to receive a picture from you to include with the survey. Having a picture included is so we can make it a little more personal and put a name to a face. This is optional of course, as are all the questions being asked. If I don’t hear back from you before your “feature” date, I will randomly select the next person and then get back to you the following week. If you would like to participate please PM Christy_K_ and we will get you signed up.

Let’s get started!!!

What is your first name? Amanda

What are your kids’ names? Ilana Eve (3 months)

Were you ready for motherhood? Yes, actually I was. She came as a surprise, but I was ready!

Have you ever met someone who has completely inspired you to be a better person? Can you tell us about that relationship and how it has affected you? My greatest friend, Christine. She's always cheerful and optimistic, no matter what may happen. Whenever I'm having a rough day, she's not only there to listen to me, but she's there to bring me back up. If something bad happens, she always reminds me that God will use that for some purpose. She always looks to Him for everything. She's made me become much more optimistic, and has helped me realize that even though things get hard, God is always there to carry me, until I'm able to walk again.

Do you have any nervous habits? What are they?
Yes. I sit on my hands and shake my legs or bounce them up and down.

Did you ever date a guy your parents did not like? Were they right about him? No, I haven't actually. My first real boyfriend I ended up marrying! And my parents love him like he's their own son! I don't think I would have been able to date someone my parents didn't like, because I liked to have their approval for things, especially guys I dated.

What do you want your kids to remember the most about you? How close I am to God, and that no matter what my children will do, I'll always love them and always be there for them.

What did you learn the most from your mother? I learned everything from my mom! Patience, understanding, how to cook, etc. She's my best friend, one I can talk to about anything. If I have a problem, I go to her, and she helps me through it. She's always there to help me.

How many coupons do you use on a regular basis? What is your best money saving tip? I use coupons ALL the time! I don't ever go grocery shopping without using them. I probably use at least 10-15 each time I shop. My best money saving tip is to not impulse buy. When you go to a store, get the things only on your list. Nothing else! I've had a hard time teaching my husband to do that....

How did you find Mommysavers? Have you referred anyone here? Were you referred here? I found it from Google. I told several girls about it, including my sisters, my mom, and girls from an online Marine Corps Wife support group I'm in, called CorpsWives.

Out of all the things the members here have offered in terms of advice, support, counsel and criticism, what have you personally benefited from? And do you remember specifically who the member was that offered that advice? I think just all the different ideas and advice about money and moneysaving have helped me out a lot. I've learned so much stuff that we've finally started saving each month! I just appreciate EVERYONE on this site.

Have you ever met a mommysaver? No, I haven't.

What is the most romantic thing your dh ever did for you? He's VERY romantic all the time! He's the type of guy who has laid rose petals all the way from the door to the bedroom, and made a heart out of the petals on the bed. He does little simple things like that a lot! It's hard to pick which one is my favorite and most romantic. I think the thing I love the most is when he brings home flowers for no reason!

Tell us five things you like about yourself. 1. My personality - I'm a very easygoing, easy to get along with, but extremely shy person. 2. My humor - my husband brings that out in me. He's ALWAYS making a joke! 3. My relationship with God - If it weren't for God, I wouldn't like the person I would have been. 4. My relationship with all of my family (DH, daughter, and extended) - I'm so close to my family! I love it! 5. My talents - I play bass guitar (which I play on the praise team at church), I love to take photos, I love scrapbooking and being creative.

What hobby do you enjoy the most? What got you started on it? How would you rate yourself? Can you show us a picture of your proudest piece of work? I love photography! I'm hoping that someday I'll be able to create my own photography business from home. All my family love my work, and my husband believes I can do it, which is most important!

How many frogs did you kiss before you found Mr. Right? Was he worth the wait? Mr. Right was my first real boyfriend. Which some people think that you should date several people before marrying one guy. That may be the case for some people, but not for me. I knew from the beginning that he was "the one" and I can't imagine my life without him as my husband. He was SO worth the wait!

What is your favorite genre of music? Who is your favorite group? Have you ever seen them in concert? I love Contemporary Christian. My favorite artist would be Jeremy Camp. I LOVE his music! He's got great talent, and I just think it's awesome that he uses it for God. I saw him once, which was amazing!

List three things you have on your Life List; things you would like to accomplish before you leave this world: I would love to go to Hawaii; have three or four more children' and the thing I've always wanted to do, but have always been laughed at, would be renting an entire hotel on Christmas Eve night. I would invite the homeless to sleep there that night, and eat a full breakfast in the morning and each person would get a gift that they could use (coat, gloves, scarf, etc.). Silly, I know, but it's been my dream!

Which room in your house best reflects your personality? My bathroom. It has bamboo and palm trees. I love tropical places, and bamboo seems so calming. I'm a very calm, patient person.

What do you see your children growing up to be like? What career path would they choose? I want them to grow up to be very caring, Christian people. I don't care what career path they choose, as long as they're happy. I will be proud no matter what they strive to do.

Is there something we would never guess about you? Some kind or quirk you have no one close to you knows about. (C’mon tell us!!!!) Hmm.... A bad habit I have, which my husband hates, is biting my straws... I just can't help it!

Are there words you live by? What are they? Love thy neighbor. I try so hard to love and care for everyone, even those I don't like! It's hard, but I still try....
