**Disclaimer**
MS Mom of the Week is a fun way for us to get to know the Mommysavers members. Newbies to the board as well as regulars are welcome to participate. The Mom of the Week is randomly selected a week in advance of her being featured. I do this so I can contact you, let you know your feature date, and arrange to receive a picture from you to include with the survey. Having a picture included is so we can make it a little more personal and put a name to a face. This is optional of course, as are all the questions being asked. If I don’t hear back from you before your “feature” date, I will randomly select the next person and then get back to you the following week. If you would like to participate please
PM Christy_K_ and we will get you signed up.
PLEASE NOTE: THERE WILL BE NO MOTW NEXT WEEK.
What is your first name? Andrea
What are your kids’ names? I have 2 boys…Aiden is 5 & Reis is 2. I also have a stepson Bryce who is 7 & lives with his Mom.
Were you ready for motherhood? Yes and no. I was ready for them to be born, but was never prepared for how in love with them I would be. And now that they are getting older, I find that I’m really *still* not all the way prepared for motherhood. They throw curve balls at me every day! Aiden actually asked me last Monday where puppies come from! J
Have you ever met someone who has completely inspired you to be a better person? Can you tell us about that relationship and how it has affected you? Ya know, as bad as this may sound, I don’t know that I’ve met an inspiring person in my life. I’ve met several whom I’ve learned from though. I’ve learned how to be a neat freak from my daddy and how to have fun with my kids from my mama!
Do you have any nervous habits? What are they? Yep, I chew on my nails. BLEH!
Did you ever date a guy your parents did not like? Were they right about him? Yes, a few. Hubby being one. And no, they were *not* right. J
What do you want your kids to remember the most about you? How much I love them and want them to be happy, strong young men. And I want them to remember all of the funs times we always have…reading books, watching daddy at the RC car track, playing board games and just being together as a family.
What did you learn the most from your mother? To treat others as you want to be treated and respect your elders.
How many coupons do you use on a regular basis? What is your best money saving tip? I’m horrible about using coupons. I always cut them out, but then don’t end up using them because they aren’t for items I need. The best money saving tip is to keep your kids at home when you grocery shop!!!!!!!
How did you find Mommysavers? Have you referred anyone here? Were you referred here? I just stumbled upon it on the internet a few years back. I’ve referred one person here, but I don’t think she ever signed up.
Out of all the things the members here have offered in terms of advice, support, counsel and criticism, what have you personally benefited from? And do you remember specifically who the member was that offered that advice? When I was going through a rough spot in my marriage, several ladies on here helped me. I like the truthful advice I’ve gotten on here. Everyone tends to speak their minds!
Have you ever met a mommysaver? Nope…but if anyone’s close to the Westerville/New Albany Ohio area I’d be open to it! J
What is the most romantic thing your dh ever did for you? Awhile back he ran a nice, warm bubble bath for me with lit candles around the tub. It was SO relaxing!
Tell us five things you like about yourself. 1. I’m organized, 2. Hair, most of the time, 3. I’m easy to get along with, 4. I’m a very forgiving person, 5. I also like my smile J
What hobby do you enjoy the most? What got you started on it? How would you rate yourself? Can you show us a picture of your proudest piece of work? Well, I guess you can say my hobby is taking pictures. I’ve always loved taking pictures since photography class in high school. I love messing with them in the photo editing software. My favorite is the one of the boys holding hands. But I also like what I did with the flower one…I took the picture of a flower at a lake house we went to last summer.
How many frogs did you kiss before you found Mr. Right? Was he worth the wait? Oh goodness, 3 serious ones. Yes, dh was worth it! J
What is your favorite genre of music? Who is your favorite group? Have you ever seen them in concert? My fav type of music is pop, hip hop, r&b, anything I can shake my booty too! I love turning the music up load & dancing with my boys. I do like some country & rock though…just depends on my mood at the moment. One of my favs that I’ve seen in concert 2x is Usher. I also saw HS Musical, the concert, last month with my oldest & his friend. I absolutely loved it!!
List three things you have on your Life List; things you would like to accomplish before you leave this world.
1. Have a daughter (YEARS down the road, I’m content w/my 2 monsters for now!)
2. Renew my wedding vows
3. Visit Italy
4. Visit Australia
5. Raise my boys & see them get married
6. See my grandchildren
Which room in your house best reflects your personality? None of them & it drives me nuts! The living room fit my personality 3 years ago when we bought the house, but I’m so over it now. I really need to do some re-decorating.
What do you see your children growing up to be like? What career path would they choose? I see Aiden as an intellectual man and artist. He loves drawing pictures & is quite good for being only 5. He loves animals too so I could so see him being an animal doctor. Now my little man Reis is a very physical guy. He’s going to be our pro-athlete in something! If he wants, that is. J He can tackle Aiden to the ground so maybe wrestling & he loves basketball & football. He’s a strong boy, that’s FOR SURE!
Is there something we would never guess about you? Some kind or quirk you have no one close to you knows about. (C’mon tell us!!!!) Okay, it’s a silly one. I can make a “tooting” sound with my hands. It’s also one of my nervous/bored habits. My brother used to tell on me for it when we were little because it drove him crazy. I’m trying to teach my boys so I can pass it down, but I think their little hands are still too small!
Are there words you live by? What are they?
1. Life is like a bicycle. You don’t fall off unless you quit pedaling
2. Laugh when you can, apologize when you should, let go of what you can’t change, take chances, give everything & have no regrets. Life is too short to be anything but happy.
