**Disclaimer**

MS Mom of the Week is a fun way for us to get to know the Mommysavers members. Newbies to the board as well as regulars are welcome to participate. The Mom of the Week is randomly selected a week in advance of her being featured. I do this so I can contact you, let you know your feature date, and arrange to receive a picture from you to include with the survey. Having a picture included is so we can make it a little more personal and put a name to a face. This is optional of course, as are all the questions being asked. If I don’t hear back from you before your “feature” date, I will randomly select the next person and then get back to you the following week. If you would like to participate please PM Christy_K_ and we will get you signed up.

Let’s get started!!!

What is your first name? Lisa

What are your kids’ names? Brendan & Catelyn

Were you ready for motherhood? Yes, I have always wanted to be a mom and could not wait to become one.

Have you ever met someone who has completely inspired you to be a better person? Can you tell us about that relationship and how it has affected you? Yes, it was my pastor's wife when I was a teenager. She has really inspired me to be a better person and christian. I haven't seen her in a few years, but she still inspires me today. I always think 'How would she react?' if I get in a situation. She also showed me that praying really does have results. I am thankful that I had her in my life.

Do you have any nervous habits? What are they? Yes, I bite my lip when I get nervous or I pick at my fingernails.

Did you ever date a guy your parents did not like? Were they right about him? Not really. My parents are laid back, plus I haven't dated a whole lot.

What do you want your kids to remember the most about you? That I love them very much, no matter what they do.

What did you learn the most from your mother? Patience!

How many coupons do you use on a regular basis? What is your best money saving tip? I don't use coupons much anymore. I used to use alot, but I found a couple dent & bent stores that are much cheaper than using coupons. My tip: By double of an item on sale, even if you will not use it for another week.

How did you find Mommysavers? Have you referred anyone here? Were you referred here?
I was searching for budgeting advice right after I had my dd, she's 6. I have been coming here ever since.

Out of all the things the members here have offered in terms of advice, support, counsel and criticism, what have you personally benefited from? And do you remember specifically who the member was that offered that advice?
Most everyone gives great advice here. It's hard to pick just one person.

Have you ever met a mommysaver? No, but I would like to someday.

What is the most romantic thing your dh ever did for you? I'm not married. My ex wasn't that romantic when we were married.

Tell us five things you like about yourself.
I'm easy-going, patient, funny (my kids say that), athletic, my smile

What hobby do you enjoy the most? What got you started on it? How would you rate yourself? Can you show us a picture of your proudest piece of work?
I used to like to cross stitch, but it kind of went of course after I had kids. I still like doing it, but haven't taken time like I used to to do it. I don't have any pictures of anything. My mom is very crafty and she got me started on craft stuff. She doesn't cross stitch, but got me interested in it.

How many frogs did you kiss before you found Mr. Right? Was he worth the wait? Actually, I haven't found Mr. Right yet. I've kissed 6 already. I'm sure the wait will be worth it, although I have to say, it's getting kinda old!

What is your favorite genre of music? Who is your favorite group? Have you ever seen them in concert?
I like all kinds of music, from jazz to hard rock, but my favorites are Contemporary Christian and Rock. I like alot of the groups that sing christian, but I'd have to say I like Hillsong the best. My favorite rock group is Def Leppard. I haven't seen any of them in concert.

List three things you have on your Life List; things you would like to accomplish before you leave this world
I have always wanted to go to Australia and Italy. Run a marathon (I'm 1/2 way there!) and go to school and get my degree.

Which room in your house best reflects your personality?
The kitchen, I like to cook and so spend much time in there.

What do you see your children growing up to be like? What career path would they choose?
I think my dd will be alot like me. She already has alot of my personality traits. She says she wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up and I can so totally see her doing that and loving it. My ds acts much like my dad. He is not certain what he really wants to be, except a pro skateboarder . He has mentioned that he wants to be a dentist or a teacher. The reason he wants to be a teacher is so he "can tell the bad kids off."

Is there something we would never guess about you? Some kind or quirk you have no one close to you knows about. (C’mon tell us!!!!)
Most people who know me, know my quirks. One thing, I hardly ever drink, but I just love to drink wine.. and I normally drink it at home, no where else, so no one ever sees me drink it.

Are there words you live by? What are they?

Something my mom always has told me.. "When time becomes your enemy, you're about to get out of the Will of God. Live one day at a time. Don't get impatient!"

You are an inspiration for all the single moms out there. I don't know how you do it; train for a marathon, work as much as you do and still manage to stay sane!!!

It was great getting to know you a little bit better

Thanks for sharing all of that. As a teacher, I just had to laugh when I read about why your son wants to be a teacher. (Tell him that telling the bad kids off is a pretty good thing! ) Have a very special week!!

Lisa, congrats on being mom of the week. You have always been so nice and once again you have proven that. I love how your pastor's wife still has that influence~~she must be one terrific person.
