HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY JESS AND ALL OUR MOMMYSAVERS!!!!

**Disclaimer**

MS Mom of the Week is a fun way for us to get to know the Mommysavers members. Newbies to the board as well as regulars are welcome to participate. The Mom of the Week is randomly selected a week in advance of her being featured. I do this so I can contact you, let you know your feature date, and arrange to receive a picture from you to include with the survey. Having a picture included is so we can make it a little more personal and put a name to a face. This is optional of course, as are all the questions being asked. If I don’t hear back from you before your “feature” date, I will randomly select the next person and then get back to you the following week. If you would like to participate please PM Christy_K_ and we will get you signed up.

Let’s get started!!!

What is your first name?
Jess...but DH calls me Margie.

What are your kids’ names?
Rugby, Riley, TJ (Terry Joel) and one boy yet to be determined....got suggestions?

Were you ready for motherhood?
Not really....I went to the doctor for birth control and she told me it was too late. I asked her how that could be (yea, I was in shock) and she told me that I was too old for that discussion. LOL!

Have you ever met someone who has completely inspired you to be a better person? Can you tell us about that relationship and how it has affected you?
My hubby. Since the day I met him he's been dreaming and thinking and talking about the future. He's constantly thinking ahead where I live more in the now. My kids inspire me. I love the wonder and amazement they show EVERY day. I love answering the questions. I like to be an example for them and hope they turn out well.

Do you have any nervous habits? What are they?
I do....mostly biting my nails.

Did you ever date a guy your parents did not like? Were they right about him?
Just one? There were more than that. There was one guy my dad asked me if he could take fishing because one of them wasn't coming back. It didn't last long after that. They were right about most of them. The one they were wrong about they admit now that they were wrong, and it's not my DH, either!

What do you want your kids to remember the most about you?
That I did EVERYTHING I could for them. Showed them boundries...with love in mind. I just want them to know I love them and would bend over backwards to hand them the moon if I could.

What did you learn the most from your mother?
Patience and unconditional love.

How many coupons do you use on a regular basis? What is your best money saving tip?
None. I shop generics as much as possible and usually that's cheaper than paying for a paper to get coupons and buying the name brands. I get hand me downs from my SIL for the boys and shop garage sales. This weekend DH got LIKE NEW Old Navy Jeans in 4 sizes for .25 each. I LOVE deals like that.

How did you find Mommysavers? Have you referred anyone here? Were you referred here?
There was an article on MSN.com that talked about Mommysavers about 4 years ago. I just happened to click the link while I was reading it. I was one week away from staying at home with my boys. It's been a major SANITY saver for me.

Out of all the things the members here have offered in terms of advice, support, counsel and criticism, what have you personally benefited from? And do you remember specifically who the member was that offered that advice?
There's a handful of things I remember over the years. There's a few members I remember things about, but nothing huge. There is a recipe I got from here a couple years ago for roast chicken that has become my signature dish for entertaining. I got that from here, but can't remember who posted it.

Have you ever met a mommysaver?
Hopefully someday, but not yet!

What is the most romantic thing your dh ever did for you?
He shows up with flowers for no reason all the time. Very unexpected and I love that. Most recently he bought me a plane ticket to Denver for his sisters graduation from college and he is home with the boys (I'm there right now!!). I've never been away from the boys and it's a welcome and much needed break!

Tell us five things you like about yourself.
My patience, my eyes, my eye for photography, that I've taught my kids my love of books, and my cooking skills.

What hobby do you enjoy the most? What got you started on it? How would you rate yourself?
Photography is the only hobby I could really show you. Other than that I love to read and that takes up any extra time I might find. I think I'm pretty good at taking pix. I'll be doing my brother's wedding this fall and hopefully this summer I'll be taking some Senior pictures for kids here in town. I did my nephew's last year and they were nice.

Can you show us a picture of your proudest piece of work?
These are from this weekend. We were at Red Rocks Ampitheater outside of Denver.

How many frogs did you kiss before you found Mr. Right? Was he worth the wait?
More than enough. He was worth the wait, though I questioned that in the early years of our marraige....I don't anymore.

What is your favorite genre of music? Who is your favorite group? Have you ever seen them in concert?
I don't really have a favorite genre. My DH thinks I'm weird since I like such a variety...blues and jazz to pop to hip hop to country. I think Tim McGraw is my favorite. I have seen him once, but would go again in a second!

List three things you have on your Life List; things you would like to accomplish before you leave this world
1. Start a business. Would love to do something with photography but that's a tough area.
2. See my kids graduate and start careers. I'd love to see my grandbabies, too.
3. Travel in Europe. There's so many great places I'd love to photograph. Ireland is the top of the list. Italy, maybe France, but I'd like to stay away from the tourist-y cities when/if we go.

Which room in your house best reflects your personality?
Right now none of them do. We moved last summer and I still haven't put my official stamp on it.

What do you see your children growing up to be like? What career path would they choose?
My oldest will do something creative or in business. He's very artistic but a very logical thinker. My #2 will do something with manual labor. He's a very busy boy! I think he'd be happiest doing something with his hands. #3 is still too little to predict.

Is there something we would never guess about you? Some kind or quirk you have no one close to you knows about. (C’mon tell us!!!!)
I'm shy! Really. I have a bad habit, but I'm not sharing that.

Are there any words you live by? What are they?
Be true to you. If you are happy with you, it'll show. I'm constantly smiling and I think it helps improve my mood and the mood of others around me. I seem to attract happy people and I REALLY like that!
