What is your first name? Amanda

What are your kids’ names? Elijah Theodore

Were you ready for motherhood? Yep. Being a live-in nanny for 5 kids prepared me for everything but breastfeeding. LOL

Have you ever met someone who has completely inspired you to be a better person? Can you tell us about that relationship and how it has affected you? My dad. He's always taken the high road and been a godly man in every decision & action he makes. Even after he got into the car accident that left him a paraplegic, he still remains strong in his faith.

Do you have any nervous habits? What are they? Biting my nails and cleaning. I clean when I’m nervous, mad, anxious..

Did you ever date a guy your parents did not like? Were they right about him? Yeah and totally. I became rebellious when I dated him; looking back I wish my parents had locked me in my room with a chastity belt on & had my dad stand guard with his gun.

What do you want your kids to remember the most about you? That housework wasn’t more important than them, that I loved them more than life itself, that the only way I was a good mom was by God’s strength and intervening in my life

What did you learn the most from your mother? That I like my house clean and decluttered (two things that her house isn’t); that you shouldn’t lie to your children

How many coupons do you use on a regular basis? What is your best money saving tip? I have tried using coupons, but I don’t get any (decent ones) in my paper. Use ¼ amt of laundry detergent & wash dishes by hand

How did you find Mommysavers? Have you referred anyone here? Were you referred here? I googled for a stay-at-home-mom’s forum to know I wasn’t alone in being frugal and staying home with my son. No referrals.

Out of all the things the members here have offered in terms of advice, support, counsel and criticism, what have you personally benefited from? And do you remember specifically who the member was that offered that advice? Everyone has been so sweet & full of advice & suggestions. They’ve given (virtual) hugs & tons of support & I’ve found so many shoulders to cry on, as well as tips on how to get rid of a mouse infestation LOL. I’ve found some new friends and I love it here – thank you all!!

Have you ever met a mommysaver? Not yet, but I think it’d be exciting.

What is the most romantic thing your DH ever did for you? On our anniversary last year at dinner, DH got down on one knee and proposed to me again – with a new set of rings (I had lost my old ones at our old job). I started crying and the whole restaurant was clapping and cheering.. it was so sweet.

Tell us five things you like about yourself.
I’m a determined person.
I’m a good cook.
I like my hair.
I'm really creative.
I’m frugal & wise with money.

What hobby do you enjoy the most? What got you started on it? How would you rate yourself? Can you show us a picture of your proudest piece of work? I don’t really have a hobby. I like to dabble in sewing (freeform, no patterns). I used to do crazy quilting and I loved that. here's the latest: baby blankets

How many frogs did you kiss before you found Mr. Right? Was he worth the wait? Too many that weren’t worth it. Yes DH was totally worth the wait.

What is your favorite genre of music? Who is your favorite group? Have you ever seen them in concert? broadway, Country, oldies, Christian. Third Day & Casting Crowns; I have never seen either in concert.

List three things you have on your Life List; things you would like to accomplish before you leave this world. Become head cook in a soup kitchen. Continue education @ seminary. Own a business. Flip houses.

Which room in your house best reflects your personality? None really. It’s a mess, then gets cleaned, it’s pretty plain on the outside, and its full of junk that we don’t really need but for some reason decide to keep around. Well, now that I’ve said it like that, I guess the whole house reflects my personality quite a lot! EEK!

What do you see your children growing up to be like? What career path would they choose? DS is barely 3 but if I had to guess, something musical. The child has family musical-talent genes.

Is there something we would never guess about you? Some kind or quirk you have no one close to you knows about. (C’mon tell us!!!!) I get physically ill when someone hawks a loogie.. my sister used to do it to torture me and now when someone does it, I start to gag. no joke

Are there words you live by? What are they? But by the grace of God go I.
