**Disclaimer**

MS Mom of the Week is a fun way for us to get to know the Mommysavers members. Newbies to the board as well as regulars are welcome to participate. The Mom of the Week is randomly selected a week in advance of her being featured. I do this so I can contact you, let you know your feature date, and arrange to receive a picture from you to include with the survey. Having a picture included is so we can make it a little more personal and put a name to a face. This is optional of course, as are all the questions being asked. If I don’t hear back from you before your “feature” date, I will randomly select the next person and then get back to you the following week. If you would like to participate please PM doozer and we will get you signed up

What is your first name? Amy

What are your kids’ names?

Addie (6) and Heath (4)

Were you ready for motherhood?

Yes, I was 35 when my first child was born. I wouldn't have been prepared if I were any younger.

Have you ever met someone who has completely inspired you to be a better person? Can you tell us about that relationship and how it has affected you?

My Uncle Jody is minister and he has always inspired my to be a better person and Christian. We have been very close my whole life even though we have lived in different cities. When I got married he preformed the ceremony and that is a very special memory for me.

Do you have any nervous habits? What are they?

Yes, eating and talking. Actually, I don't even have to be nervous! But I do enjoy doing both.

Did you ever date a guy your parents did not like? Were they right about him?

Yes and yes, multiplied by at least 50! Let's don't go there now...

What do you want your kids to remember the most about you?

That I loved them unconditionally and supported them in most of their decisions. That I was fun, kind, affectionate, and caring.

What did you learn the most from your mother?

I have learned so much from my mother that it is hard to pinpoint just one big thing. I continue to learn from her everyday!!! My mother and I are very close and she is definitely my BFF! She taught me that you could be or do anything you want with hard work. Having a lot of money doesn't always make you happy. Your children should always come first. Always be honest with your children even when they ask you uncomfortable questions. I LOVE YOU, MOM!!!

How many coupons do you use on a regular basis?

Uh, I don't really use coupons but I'm going to make it a New Year's resolution to try to save money and quit all this crazy spending, so maybe I will start!

What is your best money saving tip?

Buy it used but not used up! I shop for used before I shop for new. My favorite place for large items is Craigslist.com

How did you find Mommysavers? Have you referred anyone here? Were you referred here?

I was referred by my awesome scrapbooking buddy and dear friend Ember Nevill. You will find me in the scrapbooking forum almost everyday!!!

I referred my SD to the site and she is getting hooked quick!

Out of all the things the members here have offered in terms of advice, support, counsel and criticism, what have you personally benefited from? And do you remember specifically who the member was that offered that advice?

Mostly scrapbooking "how to" on the scrapbooking forum. I was afraid to start posting at first and Ember encouraged me to just jump in. I finally did and everyone was so nice, friendly, and welcoming. One of my first post I introduced myself and Ms. Mommysaver (Kim) welcomed me. That was cool.

Have you ever met a mommysaver?

I know a couple of Mommysavers in the neighborhood but I knew them before I joined. Also met one at a scrapbooking retreat but that was before I even knew about MS. I would love to meet them all!

What is the most romantic thing your dh ever did for you?

Proposed marriage to me at sunset ,at a beautiful restaurant on the beach, in Hawaii.

Tell us five things you like about yourself.

Faith, hair, humor, personality, optimist. Wow, that is hard without sounding conceited. Did I?

What hobby do you enjoy the most? What got you started on it? How would you rate yourself? Can you show us a picture of your proudest piece of work?

I LOVE TO SCRAPBOOK!!! I got started after my first trip to Hawaii about 10 years ago. Once I had the first book finished I was hooked. Well, over the years my style has changed and developed from what looks like someone or something puked stickers on my pages to actual organized and thought out layouts. I would rate myself on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest) at about a 6 or 7. I struggle with putting colors together, journaling, and balance. You ask, "What else is there?" Well, nothing. I struggle with all aspects of it. Thanks to the scrapbook forum I'm gaining confidence and getting lots of great ideas and wonderful feedback.

How many frogs did you kiss before you found Mr. Right? Was he worth the wait?

Way too many!! Sometimes I would keep kissing the same frog!! Yes, it was all worth the wait! Ray is a wonderful husband and the perfect father!

What is your favorite genre of music? Who is your favorite group? Have you ever seen them in concert?

Now that I'm getting older things are changing. Just to give you an idea, I listened to Christmas music starting at the beginning of November and haven't turned it off yet. I love classic rock but sometimes it brings up old feelings that I would rather forget. I would have to say Eric Clapton is my all time favorite and yes, I have seen him in concert plenty. I would love to see the Rolling Stones one day but who knows how much longer they will tour?

List three things you have on your Life List; things you would like to accomplish before you leave this world

Meet the Pope!! Just kidding (I'm not even Catholic).

I would love to eventually get all my pictures in a scrapbook, travel to Europe (however, there is so much of the US that I haven't seen), and watch my children grow up, have successful lives, and have lots of beautiful grandchildren.

Which room in your house best reflects your personality?

That would be the craft/family/playroom. It is the heart of this home!

What do you see your children growing up to be like? What career path would they choose?

Ms. Addie talks about going to the moon a lot so perhaps she will be an astronaut or pilot? She will be a strong willed and very opinionated adult (based on current life). My little guy, I don't know? He is such a fair, gentle, caring and kind soul. Maybe a minister? I really just want my children to be happy and healthy.

Is there something we would never guess about you? Some kind or quirk you have no one close to you knows about. (C’mon tell us!!!!)

hmmm...My life is an open book. I can't think of a thing.

Are there words you live by? What are they?

Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
