What is your first name?
Jenny
What are your kids’ names?
Joseph and Anthony (Joey and Tony)
Were you ready for motherhood?
Oh yes! I have always wanted to be a mother! I have a natural nurturing instinct, I think. I am a SAHM and absolutely love it.
Have you ever met someone who has completely inspired you to be a better person? Can you tell us about that relationship and how it has affected you?
My mother and father have been married forever and have 11 children. They are the most unselfish people in the world. Also, my late Grandmother Phyllis was a beautifully inspiring woman. I wish I could have known her longer.
Also, I have never met this person, but this lady in this book really had an impact on me. The book is "Left to Tell" by Immaculee Ilibagiza. One of the most inspiring books I have ever read! Here is a link to the description of it:

Do you have any nervous habits? What are they?
Hmmm... When I am around people who intimidate me, I tend to flub up my words and everything comes out sounding silly and senseless!
Did you ever date a guy your parents did not like? Were they right about him?
Oh my goodness, I think I had a radar for dating guys my parents didn't like! And YES, they were absolutely right! Luckily I finally picked a great one and married him.
What do you want your kids to remember the most about you?
That I loved them and their father with all of my heart and soul.
What did you learn the most from your mother?
Patience and compassion.
How many coupons do you use on a regular basis? What is your best money saving tip?
Boy, I am not too great at clipping coupons. I wish I was. My Dad is the coupon king!! I just go to Walmart and do a lot of ad-matching. I also buy generic A LOT. We have our own produce garden in the summer...that helps tremendously on food costs.
How did you find Mommysavers? Have you referred anyone here? Were you referred here?
I'm not sure! I think I was just googling frugal tips..? I haven't referred anyone here, but I have talked about it a lot to my family.
Out of all the things the members here have offered in terms of advice, support, counsel and criticism, what have you personally benefited from? And do you remember specifically who the member was that offered that advice?
Hmmmm... I do get a lot of ideas and inspiration from Doozer's posts. I also have much in common with marrobinson and skimommy. Mommy2mercedes has the most AWESOME recipes. She's got a terrific sense of humor too!
Have you ever met a mommysaver?
Nope...still kind of new at this board. Plus, with my luck, I'd end up meeting the ONE psycho on this board who was really posing as June Cleaver. LOL!
What is the most romantic thing your dh ever did for you?
DH was in the army when we met. I flew over to Germany to spend Christmas with him. He and I rode a train down to Rome, Italy together to tour Vatican City and other places. He proposed in a little, off-the-beaten path restaurant in Rome. Ah, memories!
Tell us five things you like about yourself.
My sense of humor
My compassion for others
My love for my children
My faith
and my smile.
How many frogs did you kiss before you found Mr. Right? Was he worth the wait?
Unfortunately, my city has a frog problem. LOL! I used to be attracted to the bad boys who were mysterious and handsome, but were not so attractive on the inside. That got old fast! (not fast enough for my parents, though! HA!)
So, I joined Big Brothers/Big Sisters and threw myself into my work as well so I wouldn't have time to date. Well, my "Little Sister" had a project to write a US Serviceman for the 1997 holiday season. (Any Soldier project) She wanted me to send a card along too, so I did. Then, 2 months later, a card came to me from a very handsome U.S.serviceman stationed in Bosnia. We wrote back and forth for several months, then met. To make a long story short, he was my pen pal and friend before anything else! We wrote each other and spent time together for 2 years, then married in 1999. God really knew what He was doing! My DH had hand-picked my letter out of a barrel of hundreds. Now, you tell me that wasn't fate? He is definitely my soul-mate!!!!
What is your favorite genre of music? Who is your favorite group?
I LOVE 80's music. I love 80's movies, and I love movies ABOUT the 80's! See my post in the Fun and Games forum... LOL! There are too many bands to list. I love them all. Yes, I did have the big 80's hair, blue eyeshadow, and pink lipstick. (ugh) Luckily I have destroyed most of those pictures..... I can't believe I thought I looked COOL! LOL!!!
I also LOVE the musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" with Ted Neeley as Jesus. I have the CD in my kitchen and in my car. I love it! I saw the show 3x and my DH and I met Ted Neeley twice. What a wonderful, kind, and humble man he is. We were both really impressed with this man, not only in the musical but in real life! We are BIG fans

List three things you have on your Life List; things you would like to accomplish before you leave this world.
1. Raise good, moral children who learn compassion for others.
2. Go back to Rome with my husband one day.
3. This one will remain open because my goals are always changing!
Which room in your house best reflects your personality?
Hmmm...that's a good question. There are elements of me all over the house, but they are covered up by my children's artwork, toys, or my husband's socks.
What do you see your children growing up to be like? What career path would they choose?
My son Joey is very sensitive and kind. He might do something that involves helping others. My son Tony is always laughing and entertaining others. He may be a leader of sorts, or else in the entertainment business. He's so funny!
Is there something we would never guess about you? Some kind or quirk you have no one close to you knows about. (C’mon tell us!!!!)
Well, I am VERY shy, not with people I already know, but with new people or people that I feel are intimidating or judgmental. With a couple of my in-laws, I have never been able to be myself because I always have felt that they are judging everything I do. I am also terrified to speak in public.
Are there words you live by? What are they?
This was always my late Grandmother's favorite prayer, and now it is mine:
Prayer of St Francis (Assisi)
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury,pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen
Here is a beautiful video version of this prayer on YouTube:

MS Mom of the Week is a fun way for us to get to know the Mommysavers members. Newbies to the board as well as regulars are welcome to participate. The Mom of the Week is randomly selected a week in advance of her being featured. I do this so I can contact you, let you know your feature date, and arrange to receive a picture from you to include with the survey. Having a picture included is so we can make it a little more personal and put a name to a face. This is optional of course, as are all the questions being asked. If I don’t hear back from you before your “feature” date, I will randomly select the next person and then get back to you the following week. If you would like to participate please
PM doozer and we will get you signed up
