**Disclaimer**

MS Mom of the Week is a fun way for us to get to know the Mommysavers members. The Mom of the Week is randomly selected a week in advance of her being featured. I do this so I can contact you, let you know your feature date, and arrange to receive from you a picture of yourself and/or you and your kids to include with the survey. Having a picture included with the survey is so we can make it a little more personal and put a name to a face. This is optional of course, as are all the questions being asked. If I don’t hear back from you before your “feature” date, I will randomly select the next person and then get back to you the next round. Mom of the Week will be featured on Monday mornings. Please keep in mind you are free to answer as many or as few of the questions as you want. This entire thing is on a voluntary basis. Newbies to the board as well as regulars are welcome to participate. If you are interested in participating please PM Christy_K_ and we will get you signed up. We look forward to getting to know you!!

Let’s get started!!!

What is your first name?
Maleesa

What are your kids' names?
Dakota & Ryan

Were you ready for motherhood?
I was so ready for motherhood!I was one of those girls that dreamed of the house with the white picket fence and family.

Have you ever met someone who has completely inspired you to be a better person? Can you tell us about that relationship and how it has affected you?
My MIL .I could not stand her at firs t.I always felt she was in my business and I never had anyone in my life like that before come to find out she cares and only wants to help.It took me 7 years to figure it out.Now she is one of my best friends and I could not imagine my life with out her.She is the mother I never had and tought me so much about being a mother and how to be a better mother by listening to her stories of how she did things with her kids and how she raised them.

Do you have any nervous habits? What are they?
I sure do!I have a pillow I have had since I was little and have to sleep with it every night. When I had my kids this beat up pillow went to the hospital with me and we hid it under my blankets so people could not see it except the ones close to me would ask "did you bring your pillow?".Our course they knew I would not be there with out it!Also I have to check the kids windows and have dh check them before going to bed to make sure they are closed. Also the locks on the front door I have to check them right before going to bed even though I know they are locked .I sure hope I am not the only weirdo here lol.

Did you ever date a guy your parents did not like? Were they right about him?
Yes and they were right!

What do you want your kids to remember the most about you?
How much I love them!!!

What did you learn the most from your mother?
Not much.MIL a lot as posted above.

How many coupons do you use on a regular basis? What is your best money saving tip?
I rarely use coupons .I buy a lot of off brand products and you can't use them .I buy ground turkey to make it stretch farther and a lot cheaper .After awhile no one knows!I only use half the amount of fabric softener. When I have left overs I put them in a bowl in the freezer for a meal later on even if it is one bowl we all have different things or the kid will have it if it is something they like and we are having something they don't like .I have a grocery budget of 400 a month and try not to go over it.It includes everything except for things for the dog.It includes cleaning products and stuff for the bathroom. I buy a lot of the kids snacks from the dollar store .A lot cheaper .I also buy batteries from the dollar store. We go through lots of them.

How did you find Mommysavers ? Have you referred anyone here? Were you referred here?
I ran across it searching the Internet .I have referred this site to my best friend. She hasn't made it here. She will soon.

Out of all the things the members here have offered in terms of advice, support, counsel and criticism, what have you personally benefited from? And do you remember specifically who the member was that offered that advice?
I don't have one thing in mind .I have learned a lot from this site .People here are so supportive and I have met some people that I am very close to here.

Have you ever met a Mommysaver?
no.

What is the most romantic thing your dh ever did for you?
let see...I would say getting down on his knee to ask me to marry him.And before that asking my dad if he could have my hand in marriage.I was like wow people still do that?Another time is he knows I love Elvis and I was having a down day and he
brought me home a heavy wool pull over jacket and a Guitar that plays Elvis music .I Loved it!he is so sweet to me.

Tell us five things you like about yourself.
hmmm.
1-pesonality
2-how much I giggle(everyone laughs with me,since I do it so much)
3-values
4-I put other people above myself
5-how I keep my house and family together

wow I came up with 5!!!I didn't think I could-

What hobby do you enjoy the most? What got you started on it? How would you rate yourself? Can you show us a picture of your proudest piece of work?
I am just starting to get into scrap booking and love it .I went out and bought way to much stuff for just starting out .I need more time to really get into it though .I also love gardening and have some beautiful rose bushes. My pride and joy!I got started doing it reading all your comments about it and thought I need to do this .Thanks!I don't have a digital camera to show you or I would .I have one on layaway and will be getting it out soon.

How many frogs did you kiss before you found Mr. Right? Was he worth the wait?
2 and yes

What is your favorite genre of music? Who is your favorite group? Have you ever seen them in concert?
I love Elvis music.Pop rock and soft rock is my favorite .I do not like hard heavy music at all and my Dh does .I was to a concert when I was 20 and it was ac/dc.

What do you see your children growing up to be like? What career path would they choose?
my oldest it would have to be supervisor or president of a company. He is not one to work to hard and to use his head to get other people to do it for him.he is a smart cookie .I even learn things from him!My youngest I am not sure yet .I know it will be something that he has to work physically hard at.That is his nature .I would like them to work for there dad and have a company. We shall see later on.

Is there something we would never guess about you? Some kind or quirk you have no one close to you knows about. (Come on, tell us!!!)
I would say the same thing as above the door and window and pillow things.

Are there words you live by? What are they?
"what comes around goes around" instead of getting so upset with stupid things people do."I can do all things through Christ which Strengtheneth me".That is a favorite one .I have a lot of them really

It's great getting to know you.

I liked your story about your MIL. We have a lot of posts on here about women at odds with their MILs. It's nice to read a positive MIL post for a change.

It was great gettingto know more about you Maleesa. You're definitly not alone on the lock thing...I have to check all the window and door locks too...even if I watch DH check, I still do it, it's one of those with my own eyes things....

Latest Blog Entry: What a productive weekend!
It's nice to know that all MIL's are not evil, I sure wish mine wasn't because I don't have a mother that I can look up to.

Scrapbooking is addicting, at least buying supplies is. Have fun!!

It was great getting to know you!
