Our Mom of the Week is HAPPYMOM
**Disclaimer**
MS Mom of the Week is a fun way for us to get to know the Mommysavers members. The Mom of the Week is randomly selected a week in advance of her being featured. I do this so I can contact you, let you know your feature date, and arrange to receive from you a picture of yourself and/or you and your kids to include with the survey. Having a picture included with the survey is so we can make it a little more personal and put a name to a face. This is optional of course, as are all the questions being asked. If I don’t hear back from you before your “feature” date, I will randomly select the next person and then get back to you the next round. Mom of the Week will be featured on Monday mornings. Please keep in mind you are free to answer as many or as few of the questions as you want. This entire thing is on a voluntary basis. Newbies to the board as well as regulars are welcome to participate. If you are interested in participating please PM Christy_K_ and we will get you signed up. We look forward to getting to know you!!
Let’s get started!!!
HAPPYMOM copy and paste these questions onto a new post and answer away!!

Have you ever met a mommysaver?

Tell us five things you like about yourself.
What hobby do you enjoy the most? What got you started on it? How would you rate yourself? Can you show us a picture of your proudest piece of work?

What is your first name?
Sheryl
What are your kids’ names?
Emily - 20, Kurt - forever 6.5 (4/28/90 - 10/16/96),Tana - 13, Avery - 8, Merrick - 7, Dustin - 6, Luke - 3, and Grandson, Brayden - 2
Were you ready for motherhood?
I think so, though I think I am a much better mother now that I am an older mommy.
Have you ever met someone who has completely inspired you to be a better person? Can you tell us about that relationship and how it has affected you?
I guess it would be my husband and my children. Just because I always want to be better for their sakes.
Do you have any nervous habits? What are they?
I used to bite my nails, but now I just kind of put my fingers in my mouth.
Did you ever date a guy your parents did not like? Were they right about him?
My parents never said anything about anyone I dated
What do you want your kids to remember the most about you?
That I was always there for them and always did what was the best for them.
What did you learn the most from your mother?
How not to act toward my grandchildren
How many coupons do you use on a regular basis? What is your best money saving tip?
I rarely use coupons. I buy mostly off brands that are cheaper than the name brand items with coupons. The best moneysaving advice I can give is to stay out of the stores. I try to make one big grocery trip every 4 weeks or so. I find I buy ALOT less that way.
How did you find Mommysavers? Have you referred anyone here? Were you referred here? I saw Kim on a local (Twin Cities) news show more than 4 years ago and have been coming here ever since.
Out of all the things the members here have offered in terms of advice, support, counsel and criticism, what have you personally benefited from? And do you remember specifically who the member was that offered that advice?
I can't remember anything specific, but the support I have received over the years has been phenomenal. I have met some of my best friends through this site.
Have you ever met a mommysaver?
Yep, several. I met: Jodie, Ann B., Gopher02, MissyMN and several members who do not post any more. I hope to meet Kellynkay soon.
What is the most romantic thing your dh ever did for you?
Well, he is not the most romantic, but then again neither am I. One time I had been pricing mother's rings at WalMart and decided that I was going to save up and get one. It is hard to find mother's rings with 7 spots. Well he came home one day with a beautiful flower shaped ring with all 7 birth stones and mine and his!!!! He said he could not allow me to get my ring at WalMart, I deserved better than that!
Tell us five things you like about yourself.
I work at a nursing home as a nursing assistant and physical therapy aide
I grew up in a military family
I have a BA in sociology
Every thing I do, I do with my children in mind
I am moving really soon and am extremely stressed about it!
What hobby do you enjoy the most? What got you started on it? How would you rate yourself? Can you show us a picture of your proudest piece of work?
My hobbies are pretty much running my kids from activity to activity, trying to maintain a house that is not too disgusting, and caring for and breeding my two Shelties, Duncan & Lexxie.
How many frogs did you kiss before you found Mr. Right? Was he worth the wait?
Only a couple. It was definitely worth the wait since I was only 20 when I got married!
What is your favorite genre of music? Who is your favorite group? Have you ever seen them in concert? I don't really listen to much music. If it do, it is on my car radio and it is the oldies station. I did see Jefferson Airplane, REO Speedwagon, and Styx in concert this past summer and it was lots of fun!
What do you see your children growing up to be like? What career path would they choose?
My oldest is currently in school for nursing and is doing really well, which is great since she has not made too many good decisions in her life. My other dd has always wanted to be a vet. I don't yet know about my boys. Avery will probably be something like an engineer that requires great brains but is just a little nerdy. The other 3 I just don't know about yet. I don't really care what they choose as long as they give it their all.
Is there something we would never guess about you? Some kind or quirk you have no one close to you knows about. (C’mon tell us!!!!)
I am totally parinoid about body oder. I shower first thing every day, use a ton of deoderant, and baby powder. No perfume though because they make me sneeze.
Are there words you live by? What are they?
My favorite (and well known by my children) is : You get what you get and you don't have a fit. Along the same lines, I also like: When life hands you lemons, make lemonade.

It's so much fun finding out more about you. I can't wait until we are both settled and have time for some relaxing, sipping a drink, and letting the kids play.

It was great reading about you and getting to know you better.
Your saying is one that my five year old ds taught me when he was three and he says it all the time to my dd, but he says "You get what you get and you don't pitch a fit". And, of course down here the "get" sometimes sounds as "git"!!
I truly admire you for working and having all those beautiful children and grandchild. When I saw your picture I thought, "Boy, can you imagine all of the hugs, kisses, and love she receives." You are truly blessed.
