What is your first name?
Mandy
What are your kids’ names?
We are in the process of adopting a little girl from Ethiopia named Addia and a little girl or boy from the Philippines named Sophie or Max (we should know the answer sometime this week).
Were you ready for motherhood?
I think I am as ready as I can be.
Have you ever met someone who has completely inspired you to be a better person? Can you tell us about that relationship and how it has affected you?
So many people that I have met through our adoptions have inspired me beyond words. They have shown us what it looks like to put others before yourself, to truly “step out”, and to love without conditions.
Do you have any nervous habits? What are they?
Yep…I’m a hair twirler.
Did you ever date a guy your parents did not like? Were they right about him?
Yep and yep. I always tended to go for the bad boys. My poor, poor parents…they were sooooo patient with me.
What do you want your kids to remember the most about you?
I loved them before I ever saw their face and I went to “the ends of the earth” to get them.
What did you learn the most from your mother?
She taught me how to be a genuine person. Whatever you do, do it from the bottom of your heart. If you can’t commit to giving it your all, then don’t do it.
How many coupons do you use on a regular basis? What is your best money saving tip?
I use several per week. I am really hoping to get better at this.
How did you find Mommysavers? Have you referred anyone here? Were you referred here?
I found Mommysavers while searching for money saving tips on line. I have referred many, many people since them.
Out of all the things the members here have offered in terms of advice, support, counsel and criticism, what have you personally benefited from? And do you remember specifically who the member was that offered that advice?
???Gosh, I have learned soooo much…mainly about saving money. I don’t know of one person specifically though. These people are AWESOME!
Have you ever met a mommysaver?
Nope…but I would love to!!!
What is the most romantic thing your dh ever did for you?
I posted once about our 10th anniversary. My sweetie planned a “surprise wedding” where we renewed our vows. He had our pastor, singers, family members, a caterer, a wedding cake, etc. I still can’t believe he pulled it all off without my knowledge.
Tell us five things you like about yourself.
1. I love deeply.
2. I have a ridiculous amount of compassion for kids and animals.
3. I am almost an expert at any type of adoption you can imagine. J Okay, maybe “expert” is a stretch. But if you have questions, ask me. J
4. I have a pretty good sense of humor. I love laughing… (I really don’t like being around serious types very much.)
5. I am VERY laid back. It takes a lot to get to me. J
What hobby do you enjoy the most? What got you started on it? How would you rate yourself? Can you show us a picture of your proudest piece of work?
Hmmmm…I am a crossword puzzle nerd. My mom got me started on them. I am pretty good (*ahem* I do them in ink) but I have to admit that I rarely finish Friday’s New York Post.
How many frogs did you kiss before you found Mr. Right? Was he worth the wait?
Hmmm… more than 5 less than 10… not sure exactly.
He was SO worth the wait!
What is your favorite genre of music? Who is your favorite group? Have you ever seen them in concert?
Contemporary Christian
Mercy Me
They are stinkin’ AWESOME in concert!!!
List three things you have on your Life List; things you would like to accomplish before you leave this world
1. Complete our 1st 2 adoptions (and probably more)
2. Work in a “hands-on” capacity with an orphanage or ministry for orphans in Africa and/or Asia
3. See my children continue this legacy (no pressure there – haha)
Which room in your house best reflects your personality?
Addia’s nursery – it is very bright (pink, green, and orange) and very girlie.
What do you see your children growing up to be like? What career path would they choose?
Hmmmm…we’ll have to wait and see about this one. J
Is there something we would never guess about you? Some kind or quirk you have no one close to you knows about. (C’mon tell us!!!!)
Okay…when I read (by myself) I like to read out loud, giving the characters different accents. For example, I love to read books by Beth Moore and I always read them with a VERY southern, Texas accent. If it’s an historical romance novel, the characters always have some sort of European accent. Make sense? (I know…weirdo!)

MS Mom of the Week is a fun way for us to get to know the Mommysavers members. Newbies to the board as well as regulars are welcome to participate. The Mom of the Week is randomly selected a week in advance of her being featured. I do this so I can contact you, let you know your feature date, and arrange to receive a picture from you to include with the survey. Having a picture included is so we can make it a little more personal but is completely optional. If you would like to participate please
PM doozer and we will get you signed up
