This year is my second year walking in the Breast Cancer 3-Day in San Diego. We walk 60 miles over 3 days, sleep in tents, and shed many tears. In order to actually participate I have have to raise $2,300. I don't look at it as a "Wow, that is a lot", I look at it as the purpose of the walk is for raising awareness and money to provide screenings and find a cure. I am committed.

Last year I found it fairly easy to raise the money because many were excited for my journey. It was a first. This year is proving to be much more difficult in raising the donations. The economy has hit everyone. I am getting creative...

I got Home Depot to donate trash cans and Smart & Final donated the trash bags. My son's baseball league is allowing me to put them out and recycle bottles and cans. A friend asked Sylvan (she takes her son there) and they are doing the same. Our mechanic is allowing me to put out a change collector. I am going to sell baked goods at my husband's work: Cookies Crumble Cancer, Cupcakes for a Cure, Muffins for Mammograms...
