Hi Ladies,
Kim pointed me to this forum so I could share my goal. I am going to train for a 60 mile walk over three days. It is to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research.
Since most of us on MS have boobs, this is a cause close to all of us. I personally had a scare last year and I am still getting follow-up screenings every six months. My aunt is a breast cancer survivor as of last year. Two of my girlfriends have lost friends to breast cancer within the last six months. One woman was only 33 years old and the other was in her early 50's.
In order for me to participate in the November walk I MUST collect $2200 in donations. You read that right - it is a requirement in order to walk. Many women and men will opt not to sign up becuase they have to pay a registration fee. Others will not walk because they don't want to solicite for donations. I was skeptical too. But, my desire to raise money for research and offer screenings to those that otherwise couldn't afford it was more pressing to me.
So, if you have the means, I ask that you support a fellow MS in this fight. Help me make my journey a success! I appreciate any amount you can donate.
Just click on my link below so that your donation gets linked with my name. Feel free to copy my link and send to your family and friends - I appreciate it. If you or your spouse's employer matches donations, please remind them too. All donations are tax deductible. I am trying to obtain my donations before we officially start training in July so I can concentrate on training. I am actually going on my first unofficial training walk at 6 AM tomorrow

.
TIA
Dawn
