Money Saving Ideas

Don't Throw Out Your Greeting Cards!   Don't throw those birthday cards away! Use a decorative scissors to cut out the front. Paper punch a hole in the corner, and you have a new gift tag!  For more ideas on making something new from something old, visit this link

Easy Aldi Meals  This is what a $6 family meal from Aldi looks like. Salmon over vermicelli and rice, with steamed broccoli. It was all ready in less than 30 minutes. The salmon was on sale for $3.99/bag, and came with 4 generous portions. The rice was $.69/box, and my only complaint was that the sodium content was a little high. Broccoli was $.99/bag, and I steamed it for a few minutes and drizzled with a little butter and a splash of lemon. Yum!  What are your favorite Aldi convenience meals/items?

Energy Savings  I have been dragging my feet about turning on the heat. I live in Pennsylania, so nights have been about 45 degrees here. The digital thermometer said 67 when I started the morning. I opened the south facing windows to let the sun in, ran the dishwasher and opened it after the cycle was done and it warmed the house up 5 degrees in one hour! -- posted by member aleise02
