Money Saving Ideas

Frugal Halloween Costumes   I wasn’t about to spend $12 on a tutu so I made this one up instead (total cost: only $3.50).  Your daughter can be a ballerina, butterfly, fairy, princess or whatever with a tutu. My daughter is going to be a “candy corn princess” this year so her tutu is orange and yellow.  -- Posted by Swishina

#1 Thing to Save Money  One thing we have started to do is to look at each bill one at a time and see if it can be reduced or eliminated. Phone(s), cable, insurance (higher deductibles), subscriptions, etc. I called to cancel my newspaper subscription the other day and the first thing the customer service guy did was to offer me 25% off my bill. When I said no, he offered my 50% off just for calling. The bill is nearly $30/month, so it's totally worth it. -- Posted by Meme

I would say menu planning. I plan out meals a couple weeks at a time. I also look at the sale ads, and adjust the meals accordingly if a certain item is on sale like chicken. This way we aren't saying "what's for dinner" and end up eating out. -- Posted by Deemom

The Leftover Gourmet  Leftovers in the fridge?  Throwing them on a pizza crust is a great way to use them up.  Experiment with leftovers like chicken, spinach, broccoli, mushrooms, sausage -- add some tomatoes and cheese and you're good to go. Posted in our Mommysavers on Facebook Group
