To answer your question, I suppose for the economy in general it probably doesn't matter. The US is likely to continue along it's general path no matter who is president and no matter what the rest of us want.

Using this logic, neither candidate should win as the side that opposes abortion also supports the death penalty and is that not murder? Maybe not of the "innocent", but murder none the same and is that not wrong in God's eyes as well?

To answer the original question, I think it does matter as while I agree that the economy will recover eventually, whoever is in charge and making the major decisions will affect how quickly and how well it recovers.

I take GREAT offense at being labeled a non Christian because I do not think the choice of the two choices we HAVE for president is going to change the economy right now. I AM a Christian...and I am also a preschool minister. I MORE than understand that what happens now effects us forever...but the fact is our nation has narrowed it down to these two men. There is nothing I can do about that fact.....and in view of that, since there ARE no other choices, all I can do is pray that God's will IS done in whoever takes office. No matter WHO that person is, I WILL be praying for them as they lead our nation and FOR our nation.

If you look back to Biblical references where innocent blood was shed, God's wrath came upon those people and God judged them harshly.
We are in a time right now, where, if we don't stand for righteousness and pray and humble ourselves and try to do something about this murdering innocent unborn lives, we will reap God's wrath upon this nation. McCain and Palin are against abortion. Obama is for murder no matter how you look at it including unborn babies. Obama also HATES the United States. He is a muslim of Islamic upbringing. They are raised to hate the U.S. and Israel and that will not change. He is out to destroy us. He has been raised up for a time like this to oppose our nation and bring destruction, if he is allowed in.
God will not heal our economy or allow us to continue to prosper any longer until we avow to put an end to this blood shed. I know you probably don't agree with me, but maybe you could get into the word of God and try to prove me wrong. Check out the various books like Joshua and Chronicles and others where God gave other nations into the hands of the Israelites and why He did it. Also, look at the times when He didn't give some of these nations into their hands and why.
In Chronicles, God says, "if my people, who are called by name, shall (will) humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, THEN will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and HEAL their land. It is up to you who you will vote for, and whether or not you will vote. But hopefully this will give you something to think about and look into.
As for the "lesser of the two evils", how do you define "evil"? Yeah, McCain isn't perfect, he is human, but there is a reason that he appointed Sarah Palin to be his running mate. I hardly call her evil when she fears God and calls Jesus Christ her saviour. Also, if you don't know Jesus Christ as your saviour, maybe this would be a good time to take care of that. It is time to ask for forgiveness for our own sins and ask the Lord into our lives and hearts and begin to lead us in this very important decision, as it will effect our lives and most importantly the lives of our children and their children. Don't be short sighted. Look at others lives and the future as well. This isn't just for the next four or eight years. This is for generations to come.

I agree. I know as far as the economy goes it may not matter but their are way more important issues out there besides money. I just posted a thread about voting and I did it before I read this one but it touched base on this. All I'm going to say is stand for something not nothing. Like what was said above vote for the lesser evil. In my heart I feel that if Obama wins money and the economy will be the less of our worries. Don't listen to me or the TV or anything else for that matter, pick up your Bible!!!

Sorry I guess it was off topic. It just breaks my heart that people thinks it doesn't matter. In the long run it matters in all ways. Even in the economy in the future(not over night) it matters to us and our children.
