I was just curious If any of you ladies have a hubby with a commission based job. My hubby started a new job and it is making me so nervous! I have been worried sick about him not making the same amount of money each week like ho would with a salary. Could anyone offer advice on how to make this work and still feel comfortable? We keep an "emergency" savings account in case sales were to be off one week. The main thinking for this type of job is because he needs a flexible schedule to make auditions for movies/commercials which is his main focus (but often doesn't pay the bills!)

My dh gets paid production pay so it varies from week to week. It is hard for us because we live in a very small town and even though I have looked for a job nothing is available for me that I would be comfortable with. We do have one car and my boys are still too young to get up and ready for school by themselves without an adult. So what I am saying is that what my dh makes is it for us.

Some weeks are better than others so I just figure about on average what he should make. I'm usually pretty good about that. If you can set some $ aside that would be better to make up the difference on the weeks he doesn't get paid much. Other than that I'd suggest just looking on this forum for good tips and ideas to cut costs at every chance you get. It has helped me!

Our dh at home varies her pay based on the hours she works and if she exceeds, that's where she got a commission.
