I've also figured out how to get the most out of giant eagle's fuelperks program-buy all the gift cards you need there! We get free gas all the time by shopping at Giant Eagle for all our groceries but we also buy their gift cards(not just for presents but to shop at the store also-ie if we are going to download itunes get a gift card there because it counts as gas points. Gas is way too expensive anymore so I figured everyone would like some ideas as how to spend less of their paychecks getting gas and more on fun stuff

Especially now! Giant Eagle is doubling the fuel perk points on gift cards (except for the Giant Eagle, Get-Go and the recahargeable Visa cards- of course). I am actually thinking about buying a bunch of Gift cards to use throughout next year (I am done with Christmas)!

Wow, I wish we had Giant Eagle here. We have Giant foodstores but not eagle & I never heard of the gas thing. Ours' is Giant Carlisle, probably different.

Actually, my in-laws told me if you eat at King's restuarant- that goes towards your fuel perks too. With every $50 you spend there you get a $5 gift card toward your fuel perks.

Yes, it's nice having Giant Eagle in our area! They are unfortunately one of the pricier grocery stores, but they double coupons and have good sales occasionally. I shop there a lot when I know we will be doing lots of travelling. Right now I have $1.00 off of gas (but I must say- I don't get great gas mileage from their gas, other people do, but when my gage goes past 1/2 way mark- it goes super fast- but it does not bother me when I can fill up my tank for free!).

My neighbor who is an older man takes awhile to get the points for the Get Go but when he does he takes 2 gas cans with him, then stores them in his garage for when he needs them.

We've found we get better mileage with their medium grade fuel. Actually we use medium grade from every gas station we go to. A close friend that's a mechanic told us that medium grade fuel is best for your car and gets you the best mileage.. it's actually a distinct difference between the mileage we get on regular and on medium grade..
