Check around your area......I use to do H&R and do a regular accountant now....and it's a fraction of the cost

Who do you use for taxes?

I've used turbo tax for six years. I even used it when I had my daycare business. It is very simple to use. I'm already done my taxes for the year!

We have a CPA and they are cheaper and since we have been using them, our refund has been more.

Yep, gotta go with the CPA unless you can do it yourself. HR Block preparers are paid by the return, so they are not aggressive about deductions and whatnot. HR Block has also gotten quite expensive in recent years.

we do a reg cpa as well, not only the cost, but also I feel that there is more privacy with using a cpa instead of h&r

We get ours done through a CPA as well. H & R is more expensive, and at least when we used them they weren't even accountants...just people trained to plug in numbers into their program.

We do our own - no point in paying someone for something we can do ourselves for free.

We use a CPA, my husband does a lot of freelance work and the CPA we use finds tons of deductions that I highly doubt the tax reps at H & R Block would find.

We use a private tax lady. She has done out taxes for 6 years. I like her prices ($100) with doing all the itemized deductions, fed, state and city tax paperwork. She moved a few hours away but we still send our tax info to her via Priority Mail.

I once looked into Hewitt-Jackson and they wanted $250 for basic just federal taxes!

We use a CPA because dh's income is usually self-employed and from several sources. I don't feel comfortable being responsible for missing any deductions and our returns are pretty complicated.
