Each year I save up the Christmas cards that we receive from friends and family. I take the fronts of the cards off and throw away the other half (where friends have signed a personal message). I then use a pair of my scrapbooking scissors and give the fronts a nice edge. When that is complete, I glue them to card stock that I have bought at Hobby Lobby or Michael's with my 40% off coupon (50 cards for $4.00 plus the coupon). I then use my scrapbooking and stamping supplies to give the cards my personal touch. This year we'll have the boys help us with the envelopes. All my cards are completely finished and mailed for under $8.00.

I cut them off like you do and turn them into present tags the following year.

I've also used them as gift tags, last year we cut them and used them as ornaments on the tree...

My SIL has done this for YEARS. I did save mine from last year to do the nametag thing.....now if I can only find them....and then remember to use them :D

I like your card idea Christy. What a great way to save money!

Some very cool ideas! I've used some as gift tags but never thought about recycling them into ornaments or new cards!
