I had a friend visiting me for the week. She just left this morning. I went over our monthly budget by $300 between doing touristy things with her and meals out. I hadn't seen her in 5 years and she'd never been to Canada.

I can't think of anything much to sell but I'll look around .. how can I make $300 in the next 30 days? Any ideas ladies.

$300 to reconnect with a friend that you haven't seen in 5 years, doesn't sound bad to me at all.

And if you had a good time, well worth the money.

If you break it down that is $60 a year!

Good point. Now I just need to figure out how I'm going to pay off the Mastercard bill when it comes in.

My quickest way to $300 is selling on Craigslist. Next is pet sitting (you wouldn't believe how much people pay for pet sitting), then babysitting.

But I agree that it was worth the money! I think many times we pay for material things when memories are more important!

I have to agree though sometime spending on experiences is worth it. I know I would dearly love to see several friends

No idea on how to make a quick $300 but I agree the memories are so worth it.

It sounds like you had a good time reconnecting with your friend. It sounds like this sort of thing doesn't happen too often and isn't a regular occurrence, so I wouldn't put too much undue pressure on yourself to pay it off immediately. Don't rush out and sell something you may regret later. In a couple months, the bill will be paid but you'll still have those great memories.
