I never thought about it affecting my credit either, but I never use my credit cards at the liquor store. I'm not sure why, but I don't want anyone having a record of my purchasing alcohol (not that we buy that much of it).
And I have been criticized at the grocery store in the past for not letting people use my loyalty cards. If the person in front of me asks to use my card I will say no if they are purchasing cigarettes - I have always been afraid that somehow my insurance company will have access to that info and raise my rates because they think I am a smoker. Plus I don't want all the tobacco advertising being mailed to me, either.
