I thought maybe we could all do a little brainstorming and think of some ways to cut down our housing costs?

- Move in with your Mom and Dad.
- Rent out a bedroom.

Any others?

Down Size
Rent (normally less the owning)
Look at property taxes before buying at least in my area cities all have there own tax rates.
Do the energy efficiant changes to cut back, line dry your clothes, hand dry the dishes, Keep the house closed up during the hottest part of the day to save on cooling.

I really wouldn't dis the moving in with mom and dad. If they have room and it can help you save for a down payment to get out on your own then do it.

BTDT and now have a brand new house to show for it! Honestly after my husband and I seperated I had to do something to get money together so that the boys and I wouldn't be renting forever (we owned while married).
