We have a trash can bin (just for recycling) and then a reuglar trash can. We pay 12.03 a month and that includes one recycling can and one trash can pickup a week. By law here we have to have Trash pickup!

My inlaws also live in Orange County and this is how it is for them too. It's so nice since all the recycling is thrown into one big can and you don't have to sort it, it makes it very easy for my MIL. My BIL and his family don't recycle anything, not even bottles and cans and I don't get it since it's as easy as putting the trash out.

We have blue recycling trashcans that the city gave us. It's picked up once a week.

We have a bin that is picked up weekly along with the rest of our garbage. If we use the bin, we get a $ 2.00 credit on our bill every month. (Each blue bin has a barcode on it that they scan when the recycling company picks up the bin to dump it. They scan the barcode, which has our info on it, and we get the credit.)

We have curbside recycling every two weeks and it's free. The city supplies the recycling bins.

We are now required to use the recycle bin for ANY recyclables. We are not allowed to put any recyclable material in the trash bin. We comply, but I don't know how they enforce it.

My trash/curb side recycling is free to me, but it's already added into my HOA fees so I'm not sure of the cost. We have a big green bin, I'm going to be honest I don't use it! It's buried in my garage somewhere. SORRY, I know that's horrible, but I have enough on my plate right now.
