Do you pay to have your recycling picked up at your home or do you sort and take it to the recycling center yourself?

We have recycling bins fairly close, so I just take it myself and we don't have that bill.

If you are charged, what is the fee?

Recycling doesn't cost anything. We just take it to the center.

We have always had (well since I have lived here) curbside recycling at no charge but recently it has become a law now I wish they would just supply the other big bins like some cities do! However yes it is free!

dh takes all our trash/ recycling to the dump. We have recycling centers but most people are too lazy to use them.

We sort it at home and then take it to the recycling center and it doesn't cost us a thing.

technically yes, but it's included with our garbage and you can't NOT have it. It is $19.50/month.

Same here, it's included in the trash bill whether you use it or not. We pay $30/month (which is pricey even for here, the city is trying to re-negotiate). They take almost everything, so your recycling bins can actually amount to more than your trash can if you pay attention.

We can forgo the city pick up and go to the dump ourselves, but it's $20 for a visit. There are recycling centers in the grocery store parking lots, but they only take bottles and cans. They will pay you for them, I think 3 cents each. I'm sure we'll do this as ds gets older to help him earn money and many schools collect bottles and cans as an ongoing fundraiser.

Our recycling is included in our monthly bill. We get three bins. One for regular trash, one for yard waste, and one for recycling. It bugs me that people don't recycle since they don't even ask you to seperate it and they will give you the bin and pick it up each week.
